8bucks Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 As long as he's willing to stick with it and not jump ship after a year of not playing much, he will be a solid 4 year player. And I love 4 year players. But I don't expect a whole lot out of him this year. I agree with this but it does not fit what I would call a major sleeper. Quote
GloryDays Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I think one of the previous posters had it correct, I think OG can develop into what most of us thought Hollowell could. Has a plus skill set and seems to have a solid motor and has been getting better and better the last few years. & bigger & bigger. He's going to be a big strong man. There's some big dudes in that family. Napleshoosier, rebelhoosier848891 and The Baby Bull 3 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Anyone know when the freshmen are supposed to report? The sooner OG and the guys can get on campus and get in the weight room and start learning D1 defense--the better! I think OG will get some time---show some sparks in season #1--but will blossom in season #2. I think Holt will be the big surprise this year---he's had the year to adjust and now knows what big time basketball is about. This is going to be an exciting year! Quote

I know nothing about his HS coach, but I would be they placed more emphasis on D than IU did last year! I agree that it will be good to get there ASAP to get in weight room, but not sure how much D he will learn this summer based on what we have seen the last 7 years MikeRoberts 1 Quote

We treated it as that nuisance between offensive possessions. MikeRoberts, Class of '66 Old Fart and GloryDays 3 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 So you're basically saying it has to be better---right???? Quote
Lt. John McClaine Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 TW was playing the 4 anyway. We will play 3 of the 4 guards with Troy and TB. I do think we will see some times with TW, CH, and TB together, but to think that with HMP or DD that we would start Troy at the 3 goes against everything we have seen out of CTC since day 1. Our 4 will be a stretch 4, not a high post or low post 4, everyone wants to think that with a couple of bigs that will change, but it won't. The sooner you come to that realization the less stress you will have during the season I know you're being serious, but it just made me laugh to read this post. GloryDays and Bobman1 2 Quote

Although I'm not sure how much better unless our perimeter players suddenly start giving a crap about staying in front of someone. GloryDays, rebelhoosier848891 and MikeRoberts 3 Quote
BGleas Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 It's all going to come down to how hard he's willing to work. He has all the athleticism and size you can ask for, as well as what seems to be a nice base of skill. Work like VO and the sky is the limit for this kid. Work like Hollowell and Perea and he could be playing at Georgia St in two years. rebelhoosier848891, HoosierTrav, GloryDays and 1 other 4 Quote

I would love to see Yogi and JBJ start in the backcourt with RoJo being the first guard off the bench. However, that's not Crean's style. Under Crean, who was the last player to start the majority of the season and then come off the bench the following season? MikeRoberts 1 Quote

FindEndNow Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 That would be how it would be the entire season too. sadly yes.. and it makes me think we'll have another year of absolutely pathetic offense with pathetic effort. It's hard to see how a coach can do the same thing back to back years thinking it'll just change for whatever reason... but then again it wouldn't surprise me from this coaching staff. Quote

I think Rob is going to have a great sophomore year. Although the players aren't grinding it out in B-town right now, Rob's posts on social media are showing me that he's doing double workouts almost every day in a gym back near his home. Coach Crean likes Rob because he's a hard worker and has his head screwed on straight. I'm expecting big things out of him in the near future. Jketch, IUsafety, HoosierHoops1 and 1 other 4 Quote
