IU vs. Purdue Postgame Thread

Afterall, Crean's not part of the problem with Indiana basketball. Let's just keep blaming the students for the poor attendance. I wish Glass would ride right out of Bloomington on the surfboard they gave him at halftime. Does hawaii need a new AD?

He was so proud of himself standing out there.....Got his buddy an all expenses paid trip to Hawaii.

I'm only in favor of firing Crean if we can get a guy like Stevens here. Anything less than a program changer like that would be a mistake. We have a top program that just needs to shell out the money and more of it... A la OSU, Michigan, Alabama football and UK basketball. Go chase the BIG fish with the BIG bait and he will probably bite. Just my .02.

Right as always!

Just a rebuttal to your words. Of course, nothing personal. I understand your loyalty just like you understand where I stand. Were all Indiana fans and we want to win. Maybe things will get better for all of us and winning goes a long ways.

Purdue is a good defensive team and I'm not just talking about the big guy.
They were switching on the hand offs and weren't over committing on the drives so our shooters didnt have the time for many good looks. As much as I hate to say it they're just better than us.

Agree, they played extremely good defense. We on the other hand looked really soft. I thought they exposed some of the sloppy handles a few of our guys have, especially jb and rj, but Troy as well. Hate to harp on Troy about that though because he has really made strides.
Someone already said it but the seven footer on the bench is as maddening as anything so far in Creans tenur. Felt sorry for Holt and Stan trying to guard AJ the giant.
To sum it up Painter got these kids to buy in on defense, and they out manned us plain and simple. Even if you take the extreme disadvantage away in the post, Purdues guards out toughed us. We even got some calls we wouldnt get anywhere else. Yogi is excluded from the conversation about being out toughed. Not his best game but that little guy is a beast.

Don't worry guys! My avatar will be coming to the rescue after next year. Some say it's impossible but I have a very strong gut feeling that he's our coach within the next 2 years.

Im feeling your gut here bud. Wait no thats wierd!

What I want to know is how people let one game cloud their judgment; I know, I know, you have seven years. That's crap. This season has gone as expected. Not what anyone wants. At all.

this season has gone as expected which is exactly the problem. 4th through 9th in the B1G is not good enough any year. We make too many excuses for our program.

How did the crowd sound? The stadium felt like it was buzzing, but then again I was in the student section.

There were a lot of grumbles within GA about lineups, coaching decisions etc. And I have to agree with a lot of them.

Was the refereeing as awful in the first half as it felt? Or am I letting the loud heads from the stands get the best of my judgement.

Honestly more of the same from Crean. Questionable personnel decisions, Yogi seemed to make a few more poor decisions than normal. Rojo and JBJ had a tough game. Stan is pretty trash.

Overall just a really meh game. Purdue is a tough matchup for us with their size. We just can't handle it, and their perimeter D is really good. When you can negate our strength (shooting) and take advantage of our weakness (height) you're gonna have a pretty easy time beating us.

I'm not moving too far one way or another on the fire Crean bandwagon. I just know what to expect at this point. So I'm not losing my head over it. But man, this loss hurt

hopefully no Purdue students get trapped in electrical closets celebrating this monumental victory for their program

man I wish I had stuck to my recently conceived plan of not watching this team play so long as Crean is the coach. I tried but couldn't show the restraint needed to stay away from this one. Whoops. And welp.

Dude, that's ****** up. I knew wade too... You realize he's from Bloomington right?

I hope mods punish you accordingly...

Agree with a lot of that.

Like you knowing what to expect at this point with Crean I'm beginning to expect that with officiating overall.  I've watched a lot of games over the last few weeks and it has become almost too predictable with WTF calls.

As for this game, they missed a handful of walks/travel, they missed a couple of off arm push offs from IU players, they missed a ton of hacks/grabs/bumps, and a few push offs from haas and hammons.  IU has to learn to win games against physical teams.  There hasn't been many IU teams under Crean that has been able to do that.  It almost takes playing the "tough" team who isn't tough.  You have to flop like you were hit with a mack truck sometimes.

I will never understand why Hanner tries to take charges. We play so damn soft. Haas and Basil were pumping their jersey in IU fans faces after the game, jumping around celebrating. Hammonds was talking **** to Hanner throughout the game. Not a hard foul to be found. Not a single message sent. Honestly, pretty weak sauce

so true. Been saying it all year. We soft!

I don't know what else u need to see from coach. U give him one of the best teams in country and can't make the final four. I have nothing personal against him but at this point we know what we are getting out of him. Time to give another coach a shot at it. This is not because of this loss but from his overall performance. Tired of the excuses. This our team is young is an old one then coach them up they have played almost a full year they are no longer freshman
