Syracuse freshman Chris McCullough is entering the NBA Draft, multiple sources told Scout. @RealGM was the first to report the news.

Thats not good. At all.

If Bryant signs at Syracuse, wouldn't those cheaters have to be down to 9 scholarships total for next year?  Does McCullough going pro leave the Cuse at only 8?  Because from what I understand Bryant's signing would start their scholarship reduction immediately, meaning they can only have 9 total scholarships for next year.

Watched Bryant play last night in the Mcd All American game.  It's tough to really get a feel from an All-Star type game but he gets up and down the floor well.  Much better than Stone that's going to Maryland.  He did get posterized by Zimmerman on a dunk, but overall he'd make a huge impact for IU.  Definitely has some skill but rough around the edges.  I see him at least playing 2 years if not 3.

It was tough to watch the game, poor overall team play which is to be expected.

From what I understand about what the fans think is the case, they can sign him and defer the punishment until next year as long as they sign him after they've filed their written appeal.

I think they're wrong, but what do I know? People have said prior to this that there was a scholarship already open for TB if he wanted it. They were confused why he hadn't said he was going to SU yet since they'd figured out the scholarships.

They lose 3 each year, so that would put them at 10.

Oops, my math was wrong.  I thought it was 4/year for 3 years, not 3/year for 4 years.  Thanks

After they filed the appeal?  They're that confident that they can win....when they kept the cheater in power?  Arrogant turds.

They had self imposed 1 scholarship reduction for this season and that figures into the first year of the penalty. So they only have to be at 11 for the first year, then at 10 the following year.

They definitely have room for Bryant

No, they just think that as long as the appeal is out there the rule no longer applies because it's stayed while they appeal.

I think it's way too shady for a program that just got penalized to try and pull. But, I think they have the room anyway.

"“Indiana, just having those veterans there, and having those guys that want you to come play with them, and would love for you to come play with them,” Bryant said at the McDonald’s Game. “And just not limiting anything you could do.”

“And Missouri, having coach Rob [Fulford] there, who was my old high school coach, and having Montaque Gill-Caesar, who was my old teammate last year. Him and me have so much chemistry together. We love playing with each other.”

Bryant also added that although Syracuse is still in the mix."

Positives of IU.

Positives of Missouri.

Oh, and also Syracuse still exists and needs him.

Seriously. All of the posts I'm seeing are either total panic about the fact that they're boned or trying to figure out a way to game the system.

My Dr. has pointed out to me that BJ and Ron are still officially on scholarship at this point. wink.png

Johnson and Patterson still haven't officially transferred. They still count. Patterson hasn't even found a school yet.
QUICK! Give a walk-on a scholarship!

CMc just screwed the program big time. By getting down to 10 ships the penalty cannot be deferred. At least that's how it sounds. That means we can't add Bryant. Couldn't CMc have waited until after Bryant's announcement next week to announce? Sounds like there was no communication at all with the coaches.

Jordan Littman @JordanLittman 5m

So, Thomas Bryant has a 3-point shot in him, too. He's 2-for-2 so far today. 13 points, 5 rebounds thus far against Wheeler (Ga.). #iubb

That's great about his 3 pt range as long as he understands the void needing filled for IU is inside.  Nothing wrong with drawing the defense out with the threat of a 3 on occasion, but one of my complaints about Vonleh was it seemed he was trying to show off his range for the NBA scouts rather help the team.  I might be way off base with that but just my opinion based on watching him play.

The thing with Vonleh though is that he was our best 3 point shooter that year (sans Yogi?).  He and Yogi were the only ones I wanted to see taking a 3 because they were really the ones that could hit it.

So a slightly different situation than Bryant, imo.
