LazOffTheBench Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 What a weird situation. I really don't know what to say or think about it. southsidehoosier 1 Quote
Feathery Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Syracuse is out IMO. I believe he will be at Indiana, and would commit to Coach Crean this weekend if Crean is indeed staying. I also think any coach that were to replace Crean would be able to convince TB to stay or commit to the Hoosiers. I think he'll be in candystripes. Thanks Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Remember, he was recently quoted saying he'd commit in March! Not April. Interesting. If this is true it helps us vs. Kentucky. Man, I don't know. I don't trust Crean to get it done but I've always wanted Bryant. I don't trust Crean to play the right players. Interesting timing on this announcement. FortWayneHoosier Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Wow! This is just so odd.... So many things to factor in....maybe crean should stay lol Quote

Popular Post TrueHoosier62 Posted March 6, 2015 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2015 The problem I have with this situation is that it perpetuates the illusion/lie that all we need are big men in order for IU to be dominate again. While "yes", getting bigger in the post would be helpful, it assumes that Crean can coach big men or that his basketball philosophy, (I've yet to figure out what the hell that is), is conducive to developing big men or meshing their talents to his game plan. Neither Zeller, nor Vonleh stayed around long enough for us to see what four years of getting coached by Crean would do for their overall game. I thought Zeller was good, not great, and one can debate how much of his development was directly attributable to Crean or his own practice time and weight room work. Vonleh on the other hand, was athletic enough, but raw, and was gone after a year. I just think we're fooling ourselves if we think more talent, or bigger men will compensate for poor coaching and development. ElectricBoogaloo, bnkepner, LazOffTheBench and 7 others 10 Quote
jbeaman9 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Here is my question, it may have been answered earlier but I don't remember reading it, what happens IF Bryant does commit? We are already over-signed by two, adding him makes three. Where will we lose three players at? Or which players will we lose to be back to even? Thoughts? ALASKA HOOSIER and southsidehoosier 2 Quote

I think its pretty easy to see where we will lose two players. I don't like throwing players under the bus but if April and Priller could really bring something to the table, they would be playing…. Not sure where the third comes from. If Bryant commits, that means Crean has it all figured out. Maybe Robinson? Maybe someone to the NBA? Maybe Devin Davis doesn't come back? Who knows where it will come, but for a talent like Bryant, you have to make a spot for him Quote

Diadem Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I don't think that's correct. Well, sort of. As I read it they can delay loss of scholarships for a year if the financial agreements have already been made for those individual scholarships. Basically, committed prospects do not have to find another home. Things are different for Thomas BryantYou're correct Pap. Syracuse can only postpone for already signed prospects. Is Izzo helping his buddy TC by possibly holding Dawson out? Coach Martin is really impressing me. Strange days ! Bobman1 1 Quote

The hard part is finding that third one...I think Davis comes back, I do not think the NBA is a real option for anyone outside of Yogi (which i still do not see happening), the final option is another transfer. Here is another question, is it possible for Z's scholarship to be dropped and make him a walk on? I've never heard of that happening and no clue if it is even legal, just throwing stuff out there for discussion. Quote

And it wouldn't necessarily get dropped. That could've been the deal coming in the whole time. He could realistically be done with school after this year too. bnkepner 1 Quote
