(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

This isn't meant to excuse the end of the '12-'13 season as I think we absolutely stumbled and missed an opportunity, but I agree with you on the lottery pick thing, especially for the year we're discussing. The 2013 NBA Draft is going to go down as one of the worst in recent memory. There really might not be a single All-Star in the bunch. Yes, that does matter. It means the talent gap between 2 or 4 in that draft isn't that wide compared to maybe 6 and 9, or even 12 and 15.

Take the 2003 draft (LeBron, Wade, Melo, Bosh) or the Eric Gordon year, and you're potentially getting franchise/multiple All-Star guys at 2 and 4. There's a much larger drop off in talent after that. It's not the same as having two lottery picks in a weak draft, the talent gap in the weak draft isn't nearly as far.

You pair Derek Rose and Kevin Love on a college team and you have a much larger gap of talent compared to other college teams that year, than pairing VO and Zeller in 2013.

Coach K lost just last year in the freaking first round with two lottery picks. I know, I know... He's built up "credit."
Not comparing, but the "two top 5 picks and only got a sweet 16" line of thinking is about as dumb and short sighted as one could possibly be.

You have a lot of feelings, Wayne. Ha

Let us hope this one breaks our way. Surely we can find someone better than April.

Has to be someone better. I don't get how we keep grabbing these 7 foot duds and u know there are players like Pritchard all over the state of Indiana and Ohio we could roll with who grew up with a ball in their hands.

It's truly remarkable what UK has been able to do. I don't want a program like that though. I'd rather our recruiting strategy be more like Duke or OSU as far as makeup.

Who goes pro from UK this year???

Stein
Lyle
Booker-best guard on team IMO.
Towns

Best candidates I think.

We can be great without one and done. Poiythress, Johnson, Lee ,Aaron Harrison could leave too. Plenty of spots for you know who.

I'm not saying he won't end up at UK but it I can say it's far from certain like that "good source" is stating. Far, far, too many elements and variables in this one for someone who probably won't be deciding until after the middle of April when players declare for the draft.

Given the history...it doesn't bode well.  If half of the UK bigs go pro that is still an open door for him.

Trying not to be negative, just realistic.
