MSU will be fine, but boy is that a hilarious first game for them.

What a time to be a Duke.

Unfortunately, MSU seems to lose one of the early season, head scratchers each year, but usually recovers quickly......

James Madison has an average age of 24.6 years?

College Basketball will look a lot more "normal" in a couple years when COVID years are through and average roster ages are back to being 20 and not 22 or 23. You'll see schools like Duke and Kentucky being really good with freshmen again because the age gap will be closed again. Though they'll still have to deal with really good player transferring up, which has definitely changed the game as well.

That's older than the median age on several NBA teams

Because, of course he did.

To me Bates not developing here is the difference in this year's team. We need better shooting and scoring from the guards and if Bates had developed here this team ceiling would  be higher

No offense to Bates but he's one of the Non-con superlative players in my mind. Will have true judgement on his progress during conference play.

Yeah, the landscape really has changed on what it takes to win.

At IU Tamar Bates and Parker Stewart feasted on cupcakes and were much different players against P5 teams.

Rutgers loses. Screw them.

My take away from that game is Princeton is pretty good. Not sure that one was a fluke.

Big Ten refs are already in mid season form. They even completely ignored the new change for calling charges already.

Smith from PU slid underneath a driver and got a charge. Don’t think these new rules will BBS applied very well.

Good for him. Will be rooting for him.

Same. He has a family and cute little daughter to take care of. I’m not mad at him getting some money especially since he would not have gotten it here.

He was a good spot up shooter for us last year. The problem was when better teams learned they could run him off the 3pt line and he couldn’t do much else. So we’ll see how he does as the season goes on. I still hope he does well.

They both have athletic limitations. With that said Bates made shots against the big boys when they left him open. MSU comes to mind. Most teams knew enough to just sit on his shot and he couldn’t do much else.
