After that it looks like pulling names out of a hat. And I know people don’t like Underwood, but if they think he can’t coach I’ve got nothing for them. Quote

No coincidence that it’s gone from the best conference in the country 5 years ago to probably 4th now. I have to admit that Payne is ranked higher than I would have expected. Congrats to him. go iu bb, Deserthoozier, GloryDays and 2 others 1 4 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Completely random thought ... In the past 40 or so years, college basketball has added a shot clock added alternate possession added a rule giving players two FTs after 10 team fouls in a half added a 3-point shot expanded the NCAA tourney to 68 teams added a restricted area added a flop rule added instant replay started paying players reshuffled conferences so they're hardly recognizable anymore and I'm sure I've missed several BUT players cannot still wear numbers that include 6, 7, 8 or 9 ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

If a foul was on No. 25, the ref -- using one hand -- would hold up two fingers, then five. But like everything else, that's outdated. If you watch now, they'll hold up two fingers on one hand and five on the other. Plus, they go over to the scorer's table after every foul anyway. There's about 0% chance a scorer would mistake three fingers and five fingers for No. 35 rather than No. 8 -- especially when the ref says, "We've got No. 8 on the reach." HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

Wonder if players realize this yet. According to our roster, all our guys still have numbers starting and ending in 0-5. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 1, 2023 Posted October 1, 2023 Unlike some schools where to get to 6, the player would have to take off his other shoe! Quote

We didn’t allow accessory bands until, I think, Archie came around. thebigweave and lillurk 2 Quote

Maybe that's just me. But yet.. something pleasing about just wearing 6, 7, 8 or 9. woodenshoemanHoosierfan 1 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Handful of B1G kids have taken the plunge with the new numbering system ... Coleman is Nebraska; Keinys is Minnesota (P.S. -- Anybody have a clue as to what that third letter in the Penn State kid's name is? Any Icelandic speakers?) Quote
