Reality is that since the game doesn't matter in seeding, they would be better off just playing their bench and not risk injury trying to come back from down 17.

I don't really agree with him. Getting the players tournament experience is helpful, even if that experience is the NIT. Teams don't generally go from no post season at all to final four overnight. 

Besides, this stance doesn't make that much sense at UC. They've only been to 6 FF. 5 of those were in consecutive years from 1959-1963. Outside of that, the only other time was 31 years ago in 1992. So we're not talking about a school with a history of consistently making deep runs. 

Apparently, they've had tons of disappointing years.
