Might be tough without victim's testimony?

True. I guess it depends if there is physical evidence on the complainant? Again, I have no idea.

Even having to wonder about that is gross.

Is it likely? If I understand correctly, assuming the complainant is able to actually drop the charges (which I'm not sure here...pumpfake's post above makes sense to me), the state can still pursue a case.

I know nothing about the law, but someone that does can correct me if I'm wrong there. I just don't see him walking away from this knowing what we currently know.

It's tricky. The charges will unlikely be dropped immediately just because the victim/complainant wants them to be. Prosecutors take Domestic cases very seriously because of what I mentioned above, the issue is they have to prove it. Normally the only witness is the victim. So, if the victim refuses to testify then their usually isn't a case and it gets dismissed.

There are other ways to prove a domestic case, but that gets into the legal weeds.

People often use the phrase “he/she is going to press charges,” but it isn’t up to the victim. The victim may go to the police, but the victim isn’t the one ‘pressing charges.’ That’s the DA. The fiancée can’t drop the charges, that’s up to the prosecutor. If she doesn’t cooperate it makes their case harder but they may have photographs or other physical evidence.

The No. 4 PUs beat Hofstra and get an officiating gift to win at Nebraska.

Third-ranked UVA struggled to beat James Madison at home.

So PU jumps the Cavs after the top two teams lost to get to No. 1. Guess you could pretty much flip a coin, but it just pains me to see the Toiletmakers ranked No. 1.

P.S. We stayed at No. 14.

Unfortunately, I think this time, they stay awhile. Their schedule for the next couple weeks is pretty weak:
Dec.17 vs. Davidson (at Indy)
Dec. 21 vs. New Orleans
Dec 29 vs. Florida A&M
Jan. 2 vs. Rutgers
Jan. 5 at Ohio State
Jan. 8 vs. Penn State
Jan. 13 vs. Nebraska

Purdue was supposed to be down this year and now they’re ranked #1 lol. Wtf.

As much as it pains me to admit this.. at this point, Matt Painter is the new Bo Ryan. Doesn't matter who is on the roster year to year. They will be good as long as he is coaching.

They fit his system. He's always finding guys who he doesn't have to compete with Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, etc for and making them successful. His most disappointing teams have had guys good enough to leave early. Might as well accept that his teams are nearly always going to be a problem.

Yeah but if their only witness is her, and she won't testify then the state doesn't have much of a case.

Which was a joke the whole time, though.

Jack Benter will be a problem, as well.
