Uspshoosier Posted April 28, 2020 Posted April 28, 2020 Are the kids taking the money from shoe companies then signing with the g league anyway?Maybe but it wouldn’t be Nix. He didn’t play AAU on the shoe circuits. His recruitment was unconventional for a 5 star Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app jk34 1 Quote

Someone still needs to explain to me what in the Hell Painter was doing when he decided that Brandon Newman needed to be redshirted last year. They'll still have Wheeler and Stefanovic (redshirt juniors, essentially seniors). Redshirting tends to pay off in the long run, especially in scenarios like this. I wish we'd had the luxury of redshirting players over the years, but Crean was allergic to the concept and we've been so starved for impact players in the Archie Miller era that it really hasn't been an option recently. IMO, guys that redshirt and then stick around for four years are unicorns....I don’t think it occurs enough to use it as a strategy. And with the new transfer rules coming up, I really think even less of it. cchuntsman 1 Quote

Yet people will complain We will be on the road for the B1G/ACC Challenge. I wouldn’t mind playing at UNC. I’d rather do that than play Virginia, Louisville or Duke. Honkyman Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 "Yet people will complain" The non-conference schedules the past two seasons warranted criticism. Maui potentially improves the quality of the non-conference schedule with possible games with North Carolina and other quality teams. Quote

I'd argue that our schedule last year was set up perfectly to maximize our change of getting to the tournament. We were a young, growing team and our schedule gave us many opportunities to beat very solid teams. Hovadipo, WayneFleekHoosier, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and 6 others 9 Quote

Exactly had we played a tougher OOC schedule and lost 2 or 3 instead of being a surefire tourney team we would have been sweating. We had the 198th toughest OOC schedule but the 23rd toughest in the country. Quote
