This Kentucky team might be one of the worst they've had in years. A bunch of positionless athletes who can't shoot...couple that with youth and they're in for a disappointing year. Similar to most years but this year they have no interior presence at all. Yet media still had them preseason #5. Can't see them finishing top 20 tbh

I hate Scumapari but they have been to the final four 4 of the last 7 years and are tied 32-32 against Kansas in the first test of their careers....they are bad because ????

Yep. I don't think we need anymore confirmation about where we stand. The looks on our players faces the end of that game told the tale. We aren't who we thought we are-Denny green voice.

I worried before the season started how long it was going to take our guys to adapt to Archie's system. Completely different philosophies on both sides of the ball. What bothers me is the lack of effort from the upperclassman. Juwan Morgan and Robert Johnson have so much more in them. It's frustrating. Not hard to readily identify who gives a purdue person and who doesn't.

Preston on the KU bench wearing a huge gold chain while having his car finances investigated. Not the least bit concerned.

Yeah kinda glad we missed on him. Sounds like he has had some issues with curfew and making it to class too. Now this whole car investigation. Whew. Don't think he would have stayed on when Archie came anyways. Another reason I only expect us in with a select few 5 stars each year. I don't see Archie dealing with the prima donnas very well.

IMO I think Justin has shown enough he can and should take some of Juwan’s minutes. Rob? Dude has been Jekyl and Hyde at IU for 4 years. I don’t know. I mean Al can take some of his minutes and they will be equally inconsistent. I think both players are what they are. Not high major starters for a team that wants to make the tournament.

Seeing Duke, MSU, KU and UK is fun to watch but on the other hand I see a dozen of Romeo type talents among those four teams.  We are a long, long ways from being where we want to be.

Wow. Doom and gloom all up in here.

No. We aren't where we want to be. We'd say the same thing if there hadn't been a significant change about 8 months ago. When you hire a new coach, who brings a new basketball philosophy, to coach a team that was recruited in mediocrity (the staff, not the players) and taught to play a mediocre style of basketball, the product on the court may actually take some steps back while everything develops. Oh, and on top of that it's also the same team who lost 3 players to the pros. To me that sounds like a recipe for taking it on the chin this season. This is something we should have anticipated. And yes, it sucks.

What we didn't anticipate ( and quite frankly shouldn't have to - EVER -) is the lack of effort from so many returning players. THAT'S the disappointing part of this. We can take the on court growing pains, that's fine. But to step on THAT court with THAT mindset??? Inexcusable. And that's what's gonna make some of these games go from tough to embarrassing, because half of them will just shut down. Progress could be made so much more easily if it weren't for the mentality (or lack thereof).

Luckily that can, and hopefully does, improve.

They're about to fire up the fire Cal threads over on Rupp Rafters.  Just like they did last season before almost beating UNC to go to another FF.  What a moonbat fan base.
