Underwood will be solid for Illinois if he can recruit big names there. BUT he has also shown he's willing to leave at the drop of a hat. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Popular Post Hoosierfan2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Popular Post Posted September 5, 2017 That's an awful idea, imo. I think you'd see kids transferring because of the slightest things if they could play immediately. It'd make commitments even more meaningless. thebigweave, ThompsonHoosier, Crimson and Cream and 7 others 10 Quote

I'm not sure I agree with it in cases of coaching changes. We saw what happened when Crean took over and all the players were gone. Allowing transfers in those situations could result in mass exoduses that decimate programs for years. I don't think it would be good for college basketball. Quote

I'm not in favor of the rule but not because of a potential mass exodous problem. Hoosierfan2017 and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

Kepner Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I think the transfer change could be good. It gives players a chance to transfer once without needing to sit out but any transfer after that, they would need to sit out. That's the interpretation I read at least Quote

Example - say Curtis Jones is as improved as advertised and looks like a star during the non-conference, but we're struggling and he's frustrated. Could a coach poach him at the semester break and play him immediately? I think it would open up a big can of worms and allow the rich to get richer. Quote
