Alford Bailey Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Figured it would be the Lakers. Gonna be fun watching Lebron lose to GS in a Laker uniform thebigweave 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 This Lakers team as presently constituted is trash. LolWho can shoot the ball? Kuzma, maybe Ingram. I actually like LeBron and root for him, but It looks like a 4-6 seed in the West to me. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote
VeevlandBrowns Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Would be very interesting to see them add Cousins along with Leonard, as has been rumored. Lakers would likely be cutting against the current grain, trying to win with a frontcourt dominated team as opposed to perimeter players. I'm reasonably convinced that at some point, the pendulum will swing back to big men (the right big men, of course) being used to exploit inefficiencies and weaknesses of the small ball approach. Whether that group would be the one to successfully do it is anyone's guess. Quote

Alford Bailey Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 I tend to believe its less about championships and more about the $$ along with the glitz and glamour of LA, Dont think the Lakers make enough moves to get this team to championship caliber this year, Iugradman 1 Quote
KingPG21 Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Lance fans are great. Its so weird to see such an average player have such a rabid fan base. thebigweave 1 Quote
mdn82 Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 I think the Lakers wait until next summer. It’d be stupid to blow up everything outside of LeBron when Ball and Ingram are on rookie contracts. LeBron isn’t going to be in LA forever. I’m guessing he is leaving to whatever team drafts his son. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersLebron doesn’t have a huge window. He is getting older. He has a ton of miles. He isn’t going to be that guy that can do what he did in playoffs against the east night in and night out in the West. He would wear down by the All Star break. When he was 30? Sure. Now? That’s a lot to ask.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Pretty classy. But then again, knowing Lance, who knows what he'll do when the teams next play each other. southsidehoosier and mamasa 2 Quote

Jr still might not turn out to be as good as expected too, it's honestly too soon to tell. Quote
mdn82 Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 The West isn’t what it was 5 years ago. They have worse teams at the bottom than the East. It is top heavy with GS and Houston. The Lakers will be a wait and see. LeBron will be able to take nights off just the same if not more than he did in the east. Just in the Lakers division alone will be 12 games against Sacramento, LA Clippers and Phoenix. All 3 will be sub 35 win teams. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appThey have worse teams at the bottom? The East had 5 sub 30 win teams. The West had 4. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
IUfan_Charlie Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 FYI Summer League starts tonight. ATL - MEM on NBA TV right now. JJJ looks great, Trae Young looks real bad save for a few nice passes. WayneFleekHoosier and mamasa 2 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appI don’t even know what to say if we have to try this hard. I mean we could go down the rabbit hole that shows the West was superior and those 4 games in difference aren’t exactly apples to apples. Or I could just stand by my original statement saying the East had 5 teams win less than 30 games. The West had 4. Out of those 4, I would be willing to say 2 or 3 got better. I don’t know where we are trying to go with this? The East is not the West and hasn’t been for years. If that is going out on a limb I guess I will stay there. 8bucks Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 I am actually kind of impressed he went to LA. Not the hardest route to get back to the finals but there are certainly far easier places he could have gone to accomplish that. I do expect a star to join him this year. He has always been on a win now team (when he could choose) and I would expect that to continue Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mdn82 1 Quote
IUfan_Charlie Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Trae Young's shot selection is still complete trash. Quote
