If you’re inclined toward the conspiratorial, a sequence of the Mavs gifting Doncic to the Lakers for 50 cents on the dollar followed by them then hitting the 50-1 shot for Cooper Flagg, is about as tidy a fix as is imaginable. I’m not, but, man, that is just so bad. Don’t really care about the Mavs getting it other than that idiot Nico Harrison getting the satisfaction after all the idiotic stuff he said. He doesn’t deserve to manage the team with that pick. moyemayhem 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted May 13, 2025 Posted May 13, 2025 Sure as heck looked like an Achilles for Jayson Tatum last night. Will find out today. Really sad; an incredible player, hugely impactful for the franchise, and it happened to seemingly a really class act great guy. :( Pagoda and Demo 2 Quote

Terrible luck for a kid I’ve never heard a bad word from annyone about. Will say this, his game to isn’t tied to his athleticism, so I like his chances to get all the way back. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 The refs bailing Mitchell out all series is nauseating. Hopefully Pacers can pull another one off despite it. Quote
Brass Cannon Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 Cavs are just a mentally weak team. Hopefully the Celtics can win one more to drag out the series a bit with the Knicks. Pacers vs Knicks. Doesn’t get better than that WayneFleekHoosier and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote

HoosierHoopster Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 Haliburton looks like that next guy since Reggie the P's have been waiting for. Dude's a stud, the waive off to the Cavs fans had me laughing. P's v Knicks should be a really good series. And watch out for OG, healthy, he's a big time load -- makes the series more enjoyable, I hate the Knicks, don't care for Brunson, but OG is one of my favorite NBA players, two-way killer with an outside game, outstanding court awareness, athleticism, skill, the entire package of a two-way player moyemayhem, J34, Stuhoo and 1 other 4 Quote

Love this Knicks team - OG, Brunson, Thibs is one of my all-time favorite coaches. Love what Mitchell Robinson and Hart bring too. Lunch bucket, hard-working players that play team ball, defend like crazy, and don't ever whine. Watch Brunson after a questionable foul call - the guy doesn't even blink - just gets back to work. For a guy that is not a great athlete to me he is an all-time great in the making and a helluva leader. Pacers are much the same; Carlisle and a bunch of relatively low-profile guys including T Bryant, that move the ball and defend. moyemayhem, triple and Demo 3 Quote
moyemayhem Posted May 14, 2025 Posted May 14, 2025 Great win by the Pacers. They have a grit that is undeniable at this point. It really is a joy to watch them play. They are so unselfish, they have unique players that just fit together, the effort is consistent, and they are never intimidated. And it all starts with Haliburton who has a special basketball IQ that is clearly contagious. Such a fun team to root for. Quote

SGA and Doncic are in another tier, but after those 2 I wouldn’t take any other PG in the League to run my team over that guy. Not 1. To get the ball to the right guy in the right spot over and over as efficiently as he does, unbelievable. Different player, but he’s borderline prime Chris Paul as a QB. And because he does, everybody runs, everybody gets to spots because they know he’s gonna create and find them. Oh, and then he just freaking makes shots. No disrespect to Sabonis or De’Aaron Fox, but how did Sacramento misread what they had so badly? HoosierHoopster, thebigweave, taco corp and 1 other 4 Quote

Yea. Reminds me of when Scalabrine did the "Scallenge" vs. HS/D2/D1 challengers. IIRC no games were even close, most guys can't even score a point against him. Pagoda Posted May 22, 2025 Posted May 22, 2025 I love how level and calm Carlisle is. His postgame locker room speech was literally seven seconds long -- he's focused on the big picture. And he doesn't get baited in the postgame pressers. This is so fun. sirhoosierlot, Hovadipo, J34 and 1 other 4 Quote
Hovadipo Posted May 22, 2025 Author Posted May 22, 2025 Brunson is so, so good but if I’m a Knicks fan I’m furious with how often his foul baiting led to stupid turnovers. At least 2 in OT and plenty of examples of it leading to bad possessions without one showing up in the box score As a Pacers fan? Flop away brother. triple, Demo and thebigweave 3 Quote
