Walking Boot of Doom

(2016) SG Bruce Brown to Miami

Recommended Posts

Blackmon will leave and Gelon may redshirt and in all likelihood will play very little his first year. This leaves three guards: CuJo, Newkirk and Rojo. BB will play right away. I think there is room for Alkins. In situations like Alkins or Maker, you make room. Tbh, I don't think 5 guards on the roster is a stretch.

Gelon will play very little, that you're right about. He won't be a redshirt, the way Crean throws scholarships around that is the last thing we need.

You're probably right. I still think you can easily be top-heavy with guards with this kind of talent in Crean's system. Heck, we're poised to do it right now.

Not really worried about Purdue here, you never know though.  They got in on him late, and they're not exactly a guard friendly school.  Of course maybe that means there's more playing time there.

I just hope he decides soon though.

I think its got to be us just because he says he wants to play PG.  We can pretty much guarantee him that.

Xavier has Goodin coming in.

Miami has Newton coming off the bench this year, who should be ready next year to take the reins.

Purdue has some PG coming in, can't remember his name but I remember him being too short to really play anything else.  And a couple already on the roster.

Umass is the wildcard, why didn't he visit if they are a legit option.  They could be a legit option because they will need a PG next year.  But they have Clark already on the roster to play SG, and they have a CG and a SG coming in.

If he wants to be guaranteed to be the leading candidate to play PG hes gotta come here.

I mentioned this to Hova last night. Just heard he doesn't have his travel arrangements which is odd this close to the visit. Some pro-iu stuff also

Maybe Matt Painter flew out there today so they can drive back to Purdue together?  Haha.

To be honest, I feel Bruce is the most important of our targets. Although De'Ron is very high up there too, I just feel we need another good guard to succeed next season. We'll likely lose Blackmon (I just can't see him staying), and we'll lose Yogi, so I think it's a must that we have another guy to play with Rob. BB and Rojo should be a strong backcourt with hopefully De'Ron and TB with Mario at the SF. With maybe OG, Juwan, or Collin competing for a starting role throughout the season.
