I think everyone is sensing that Memphis is going to be hard to beat for TW

Memphis is the "favorite" for Wiseman too, correct?  I watched Wiseman vs TJD yesterday.  Wiseman is on another level!

really???, why is that, is just the draw of Penny

It doesn't hurt than Penny was a 6'8" guard/wing,  right down Trendon's alley, about the same as a PG wanting to play for Archie, except Penny had more player success.

Trendon and family have a real strong previous relationship with Mike Miller. I believe he coached Trendon in AAU early on. Memphis is in the south and it was always going to be hard to sway him out of the south. If u look at past recruitments it seems it’s always hard getting kids out of the south region to play elsewhere. Having said that not impossible to sway him out of the South especially if he ends up taking an officials to other schools outside of the South

If this recruitment of a player from the south goes south we can blame it on the south’s propensity to keep players in the south

Mike Miller also sponsored Christian's AAU team for several years.

I'd rather have them at Memphis than pUKe or KU. They'll make a big splash and then amount to nothing, kind of like UNLV did for a few years when they signed some high profile guys (Goodluck, Anthony Bennet, Zimmerman) and still missed the tourney, if I remember correctly.

Agree. I like seeing random teams get stars like LSU or Memphis or UNLV or Missouri and not make any real noise.

Trendon Watford update ... it's going to drag on until Spring.

Would not want to be a college coach trying to put together a team and have to cater to these kids. I understand it's a big decision but it shouldn't take into the spring to know where a kid wants to go under normal circumstances. This is especially true for kids who want to be a one or two year college rental with no real interest in a degree.

I think it’s flipped. It’s especially important for the kids with one or two years to sell themselves to know as much about what’s going on at these schools by waiting till the spring when coaching and roster decisions will be more clear.

Actually it makes perfect sense to get as much information as possible before making this decision.

As a future pro player you want a place that’s going to allow you to showcase your skills and build your brand.

I get that argument, but I would be shocked if pro teams aren't already aware of these kids and what they can do. I could see that thought process being more valid for kids who are borderline NBA prospects and need somewhere that fits their skill set the best.
