What does "1 of 76 in Year 2 under DD" mean?

A lot to like about this team offensively. Guards are dynamic and can get their own, without seeming too selfish. Lindsay looked like Allen Iverson : ) You can see Sherrell & Samet will be able to get buckets too. Hopefully Sherrell doesn't fall in love with the 3 too much.

Defensively, rebounding looks good. A little worried about perimeter D, but it is still very early. Samet, Alexis & Sherrell will block a lot of shots.

Not sure about Mustaf's role. Did I read he's a defensive stopper? Offensively, he had a couple of nice drives, but also forced it several times and turned it over.

Feels like a deep team.

Listened to the game on the radio.  Still won't spring from the B10+.

Sounded like we played well.  Was encouraged with the rebounding effort.  Does anyone know how good UNC is supposed to be this year.

Prior performance is only relevant if the situations are similar.

  • Devries is not Woodson or Archie.
  • Burton is not Conerway,
  • Yigi is not Bailey,
  • Sherrell is not Tucker.

and so forth.

We are going to be a success this season. We have size, scheme, depth, athleticism, shooting, and upon first glance no head cases..

The x-factor without any doubt at all is Harris. Using your comparisons from  above, all correct, Harris is not Wilkerson. He’s a great looking shooter but at no point has he actually been a great shooter. Even his scoring at Paul VI was a lot more bully ball than raining 3’s. But I like what DDV is doing basically trying to rebuild his confidence from scratch after the Duke washout. If he’s able to pull it off, and I’m not super optimistic on this one, and Harris becomes a guy with real gravity that changes a lot and the ceiling of this team is a fair bit higher. But if he’s not making shots he’s not good enough to elevate you in any other way. I really want to be wrong here and DDV to be right and if he turns that kid into a winning player I will be very, very  impressed.

So far I’m not seeing it either.

Giving the scrimmages a litte more consideration, Burton's foul trouble in both stands out. I like his game, but am concerned about the foul rate. Last night Lindsay more than made up for it. But Burton has to stay on the floor. Second,I haven't been paying enough attention to Mustaf's defense, but I think that is gonna have to be his contribution, since offensively he seems very one-dimensional = "Straight-line drive to the basket." That has a place, but hard to see consistent success with that in the B1G. I am a little skeptical of Harris, but he is gonna get his chance. As Demo wrote above, if he is a + 3pt shooter, IU has a pretty high ceiling.

It has been a while since IU had multiple scorers. I THINK this team might have that. Sherrell looked a little more comfortable on offense (vs Butler) and his upside is clear. I like the front line a lot. Alexis is a perfect back-up center, IMO. Capable defender, rebounder and can score a little.

As of today not Top 25 material but received 20 votes to our 8 in the AP voting despite yesterday's outing.
