Class of 2022 was omitted from the 5 for 5 rule for some reason and somebody shared a link, I think earlier in this thread, to a story where some players got a temporary injunction from a court. Not sure the odds, but doesn't seem totally minuscule.

I believe the link was one where some players were seeking a temporary injunction, not granted an injunction.

Really good summary with stats from The Daily Hoosier.

Raby said last night Saturday's tipoff was 2:00; however, he's since backtracked that to 3:00 and that's the tipoff time noted in the TDH link above.

Anyone know the reason for Alexis being there? Just helping fill a spot with the big guy out? I mean realistically what's the likelihood he could even play next season? 0.00001%?

Report I saw earlier was to not have to play players out of position and disrupt rotations because our foreign players are not eligible to play in this specific event.  Behind the scenes reason could well be hoping a court makes a ruling that would allow Sam to play another season.

After watching last night and sleeping on it.

1.  We are much more Athletic than last year. (Sherrell is looks huge out there)

2. We have much better ball movement and spacing.

3. More useable depth at all spots.

4. Defense is a question for me still.  I feel like at times the younger guys had a hard time staying in front of the offence.

5. Freshman players will contribute this year.  Good surprise for me.

6. We will not have to live and die by the 3 this year.

Looking forward to the season and hope they can gel as a team.

There’s really no point in trying to read the tea leaves on these games, I suppose. I find it (very) mildly interesting that Sisley didn’t start. I thought him starting the other game might be a nod to him clearly being our 6th man. Obviously the freshman are playing well but they must be practicing well to if they’re comfortable throwing one in the starting lineup.

I was hoping the lineup change was just to see different looks for the coaching staff.  I was a bit surprised that he didn't start as well.

Tea leaves are the fun part this time of year.  I like evaluating and seeing how they grow as the season progresses.

Who do you see as our lock down defenders.  This is my concern right now.

For me the only plausible takeaways are in the comparison of our players versus our players.

And with that in mind, I really enjoyed watching the aggressive athleticism + confidence of Sherrill (without a doubt), Burton, Lindsay, Karvala, Mustaf, and Moody. Harris, Sisley, and Manhertz? Not as much.

I zoomed in and cropped this photo of Sam with a big smile. After watching the highlights, he was definitely welcomed with open arms by the entire team. Seeing that joy on his face makes me wonder if he really sees potential on this year’s team. I can’t help but think that it hasn’t crossed his mind about maybe/possibly trying to get another year. JMO

He would definitely be an instant upgrade and add more depth, skill and size to our front court.

Sam Alexis, Oklahoma City

Appeared in three games in Las Vegas and posted 3.3 points in 10.2 minutes per contest.  He shot 57.1% from the field whiled adding 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks.  Also played in a game in Salt Lake City and posted two points, five rebounds and an assist in 9.7 minutes.

Harris is the 1 who’s kind of concerning. The lack of stop/start is just a problem. Exactly what he looked like in high school. A bully who didn’t move great. Is he gonna shoot it consistently well enough to stay on the floor when that’s all you’re getting from him? Hope I’m wrong, but I kind of think he’s the one who loses out as Moody ascends. Harris looked like crap given the level of opposition, and in comparison to his teammates.

He also looked lousy in comparison to the three guys he'd likely lose minutes to: Mustaf, Moody, and Karvala. If Prince and Vaughn can make open threes (and some end of shot clock threes) anywhere approaching this, I'm not entirely sure what, if any, role there is for Harris.

I'm no bball scout, but this was some nice athleticism for a 6'6" guy: steal, get up to full speed, defender right behind as a distraction, one foot jump in stride into effortless two hand slam.  That's not easy.  I'm not sure of the last guy we had who could do this.

Just an eye opening play.  Of course we'll have to see how he does vs. D1 teams.
