20M for this roster?  Is this real?

I will caveat that NIL figures are not published anywhere officially so there's no way to really know. That said, $20M is the figure I see most often cited on social media. I think Rabjohns put it in that ballpark. $17-20M is probably a likely range IMO.

We likely spent over 10M on Sherrell, Burton and Yig alone.

Yes.  Sherrill alone was supposedly around $5M.

No one here actually knows, none of it is public. But if they did pay that? Good, that should dispel the equally unsubstantiated complaints we didn’t spend enough

You must be new around here. If we did pay that then the complaint becomes that we overpaid.

Alexis was a huge position of need and I love it. Plus he’s a double plus dude.

Feeling pretty good about where we stand.

I think Sherrill and Burton have to pop if we have a chance at elite results.  I think we lack elite talent to a degree but we have a lot of pieces.  I’ve always loved Moody and I think he will play way above his ranking.  We’ve got 8 contributors not counting the freshman.  Thats perfect.  Backup PG is still a bit of concern but i think Moody might be more capable than many think.

Theres 5-8 or so rosters out there that make me jealous but after that we on paper should be able to be in the fight.  Getting myself pumped up.

I'm not going to get too far ahead of everything......still not convinced the injunction is going to stick.

Obtaining a preliminary injunction requires, among other things, demonstrating a substantial likelihood of success on the merits, at an evidentiary hearing. It’s a fairly significant step in the litigation

If the NCAA had a brain they would have allowed this from the start.

If they have any brain left they will just give up so they don’t take anymore Ls

I really wish the ncaa would just go away. Terribly run, inconsistent application of rules, terrible enforcement action/lack of teeth, and of course bumbling their way through this entire time of NIL and changing eligibility rights. Utterly inept

Sam is eligible under an injunction in Tenn St court. I’m not even aware that the NCAA is challenging that one. Of course, they may be and the IU media just hasn’t reported it.

Either way, the big case in Denver that everyone is talking about would have no effect on Sam if it were reversed. It is the case allowing Daly and Wyatt to join the football team, though.

I’d be pretty surprised if Alexis doesn’t suit up for us this year.

Yeah, I am not far behind you... Adding Sam makes me feel a lot better about this season. Feeling pretty good.

Was surprised to hear Dauster say the roster is capable of making a run as far as the F4. I'm not sure about that??

I think Lindsay and Moody can cover back up PG, obviously want Burton on the floor as much as possible though.

If Burton and Sherrell stay healthy we should be competing pretty well in the conference.

Individually, I'm most skeptical about what Harris can add. I think he is going to end up being our 8th or 9th man though so that's not a huge worry for me at the end of the day.

Based on style of play, I think shooting is a bit of a question mark. I'd like the green light for early shot clock deep 3s to be reeled in some more. Last year we basically didn't have any other options with the lack of size and athleticism... this year we have a roster that should give us more options.

I'm really excited about the idea of football and basketball being good at the same time. Hopefully DDV shows he is a quick learner and we can build on this year.

  1. Good question that hasn't been discussed.
  2. WE GOT SAM ALEXIS BACK so count me in the who gives a rat's @$$ category.

I would sell Sokolov down the river for a bag of cracker jacks and a Nick Zeisloft style three point specialist without a second thought for the fleeting happiness and other intangible benefits it would give me!

I don’t LOVE the Lindsay, Mustaf, Harris grouping.

I think Burton is an A or A-.

I think Sherrill is an A or A+.

Yigi is a B to B+ for me because that size and experience is a huge need  Based on size and depth along

I like what Mustaf can offer defensively and from a versatility perspective.

I wish whatever we spent on Lindsay/Harris was for a proven SG guy.

But I’m curious if we can find the untapped potential in Harris.  Curious if Moody jumps him early.

Agree on Mustaf and Sherrell. For me, seeing the way Prince played, even against terrible competition in Peru gives me real confidence that we have plenty of viable choices at SG. And FWIW, Lindsay does not seem to be an especially dynamic player, but he is a proven, mature high-major SG.
