DeVries has to get some size in portal. It’s not the size that was the problem it’s the person he got with size in the portal and amount of money spent on him. I guarantee none of those Illinois bigs are being paid what Bailey is getting paid. Quote

When he’s on, he’s on..:but when he’s off, he’s just a body out there. He’s not much of a playmaker. Definitely has come back to earth after that 4 game run earlier this season. Would be great if he made the offseason jump to average starter. Improve his handles and get quicker on defense. Otherwise he’s a great 7th man, getting 15-20 minutes per game. Decent chance we need five new starters next year yeesh Quote

Unselfish on offense, help on defense and hit the boards. Michigan and Illinois assembled tremendous rosters with size and shooting. Hard not to be jealous of what they have going on right now. Both with legit shots to win it all. Jeff Flabjohns 1 Quote

Today hammered it home but it’ll probably be his priority 1A in the offseason. This league requires it The irony of it, is I feel this years team is 1 good big away from being really good. We have 5 scholarships players on this team that provide little to no production. Imagine trading those players for 1 dynamite big. Quote

IMO he has shown enough flashes for me to believe he can be a productive starter next year with a healthy and focused offseason. Just gotta get more consistency out of him. We really need him, Miles and Sisley to take a big step this offseason. Finances get tricky quickly if you try to flip 5 or more roster spots IMO. Stuhoo, JF87, Pagoda and 1 other 4 Quote

Box score says they had 15 offensive boards ( seemed like 50) to our 2. Also, we had a decent 8 turnover game but the Illini only had 2. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted yesterday at 08:02 PM Posted yesterday at 08:02 PM Welp. We're 17-9. On the verge of another season with double-digit losses -- our 10th in a row and 12th of 13. Wasn't really expecting anything different this season. Still -- it sucks. Can be tough on the hardcourt when you're at a football school! Quote

There will be a few more pieces after hiring and firings. But the kids unhappy with their situation are already being contacted. I hope you mean that kids unhappy with their situation are having their representatives let coaches know they will be available. I certainly hope IU coaches are not contacting players that are still playing on other teams. I know it's the wild, wild, west, but I expect IU to follow the few rules that are still remaining. Quote

But really, it's impossible to say without knowing the quality of portal additions. I do think we can be reasonably confident money will be allocated better on next year's roster, with TDV and Bailey departing and having a core of players to retain rather than starting from scratch. Jeff Flabjohns Posted yesterday at 08:09 PM Posted yesterday at 08:09 PM Lot of money to spend again this offseason. Coach earns his paycheck by snagging two bonafide big fish and complementing them when filling out the roster. Quote
IUHoosier5 Posted yesterday at 08:10 PM Posted yesterday at 08:10 PM 20 points in the second half. We never stood a chance Quote

We barely have a player worthy of a starter spot returning. It will be a near full build. Unless we are just trying to tread with a similar ceiling team. They turned out about as well as our other signings with the caveat they’re freshman. Other teams got quality starters out of Europe and apparently we were never in the market (maybe due to timing?) for that. Quote
