Status on our missing players, please.

I'm a bit late to the party this year (been distracted by football).  At present we have four players not playing.  leaving us with only 9 healthy bodies + walkons.  Does anybody have a status report for those four and any idea if and when they might return.

I know that Acimovic played mop up minutes in the first exhibition.  I'm guessing that he might be a candidate to red shirt but that is just a guess.

Ristic, I think, played on our summer trip.  He might have an ankle injury.

Harris. I have no idea what is going on.  The same for Drake.

Hate to be shorthanded all season.  You know injuries are going to come at some point, not to mention those games where the fouls mount up.

Harris, Ristic and Drake are all out with injuries and I don't think there is much of an up date when they will be back.

Ristic played well in Puerto Rico. Getting him back, another point/on ball guard, should help. No leaked reports that I’ve heard but you’d think he be close given the amount of time.

Last time I saw him on the bench he was not wearing the boot. However Harris still was . Not sure on Drake. Just wish they would give regular updates/status report instead of being so vague.

I can't find it but I believe I read a few weeks back that Harris was January at the earliest and Drake in December but I may have the names and dates flipped.

Is it bad or the new normal that I have no idea who any of these guys are? The apathy of the last few years and constant roster turnover have not incentivized getting familiar with anyone until it’s proven to be worth the effort by the team’s performance (although I’m encouraged so far!).

Darian DeVries on if he has any updates on Jason Drake and Aleksa Ristic on the injury front. "Not really ... They're getting better, starting to do more things within practice."

DeVries says there is no clear return timeline for Ristic, Drake and Harris. Says they are all progressing and doing more in practice.

Asked Darian DeVries about the growth of & plan for Andrej Acimovic, who still hasn’t played this season. DeVries said Acimovic has made strides, but the plan — redshirt, play, etc. — is still “up in the air.”

 

OF NOTE:  From what I read before the season started sounded like the goal was a redshirt for Acimovic.

Had thought Ristic would be close to returning, Starting to do more things probably isn't contact scrimmaging, guess it'll be a while. That's too bad but hopefully sometime early in conf play.

Ristic looked like a very mature player in the Bahamas; it'll be great to have him in the mix. I'd imagine that our cupcake games post-the next four will be a perfect way for him to ramp up.

Ristic would definitely help imo. He played like a true point before going down to injury. Not this next game, but hope we see him suit up again soon.

Reed Bailey was missing in plain sight again against both Minnesota and Louisville. He never was supposed to be a low post scorer; the problem is that he's apparently also not a stretch big scorer.

Didn't Ristic play a few minutes against the Gophers?  I thought I saw a #13 out there and had to Google the number to see who it was.

Physically he looked like he belonged. The whole bench pretty much got torched so I’m not sure how much you can take away from it other than he’s healthy.

Yeah, the idea he was a shooter was based on an inflated 3pt% last year. He shot less than 2 a game and a couple of his games where   1 for 1, 2 for 3. 

Nothing about his career ever said Big Ten big to me. He is a good passer, and for his size he's a good ball handler. Atrocious career defensive numbers and the offensive rebounding numbers of a back-up point guard. 

Again,,,,the roster reflects our staffing during roster construction. The price tag on Bailey was reported to be 1.5m. 1.5 I think is the number of offensive rpg he gets. He was Adam's contribution. 

Next year will be different.

If he was Adams' contribution? So far it looks like Adams screwed up. Whoever had the primary hook into Wilkerson and Dorn should be the favored Assistant Coach evaluator.
