IU5355 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 So happy for Cooper and glad he is representing us. There will be someone ready to step up in his absence. Hollywood Mike Miranda 1 Quote

He also won state in wrestling. Played a bunch of positions in football too. He just seems to fit that profile that could thrive in Cignetti’s system. Wow. I'm big on Thiry now, too. Quite the multisport athlete with skills that translate to football: running, jumping, and understanding leverage. TucsonHoosier 1 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Good for Coop and ultimately us. He was awesome! This was the right decision and the expected decision imo. I’ll never forget watching that Penn State drive with my Son and Wife and all of us jumping around screaming together when he made the catch. Plus, Shazz Preston looks very capable. His highlight tape from Tulane is exciting. And that’s not to mention Marsh, and Charlie B. WR room is stacked. Tyler Morris and Chandler both weapons too. Go Hoosiers! Go be great Omar! The top 3 TEs, Nowakowski, Staes, and Bomba are gone. Schott is a nice prospect, but I’d be surprised if Cig is already pencilling him in as a starter with virtually no college experience and no time working with our coaches. The only other TEs that we are bringing back from the current roster are Thiry (who may have some upside) and Barker (who looks like more of a block first type). Could there be someone else who they are in the process of converting to TE? I guess the only logical conclusion is that either Thiry or Barker has really impressed the coaches. In Cig we trust. I've not seen Barker play football, but I've seen him play basketball and based on the way he set screens I am assuming he'll be a very good blocker. That kid has legs like tree trunks and stonewalled some kids in HS setting screens (HS kids often haven't learned to call those out). Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 26 Posted January 26 How you're feeling in 2026 knowing the players that won't be coming back for one reason or another are the same feelings some of us experienced in 1976. It's just special. J34 and str8baller 2 Quote
