Is this what it was like where you were already getting excited for the next season while we were in the season. And you just knew the offseason would be agony I know some older fans who said they didn't even know who would be on the roster until the team calendar was published in October. cthomas, Stuhoo and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
AZ Hoosier Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Just now, Class of '66 Old Fart said: When Knight was head coach absolutely yes. But this was in the age long before any form of social media, podcasts, etc., and information was pretty much limited to whatever the Indpls. Star published. Hardly ever got any real indication of who Knight was recruiting until a commitment was announced. Yeah, the thing that I remember most was the absolute dearth of recruiting info. I graduated in '77 and moved to Arizona in December of that year. I remember my dad sending me care packages of clippings from the Star about Knight, the basketball program, etc. Then around '82 we got cable and could watch the games on WGN and similar. Before the glut of basketball on cable, I remember being able to pick from 2 or 3 stations to watch the IU game. After following the '76 team in person, on campus, imagine being exiled to Arizona for the '81 and '87 championship runs. ebridges24 and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote

Ah, yes, the calendar posters. My aunt worked for an insurance company and they would get the posters a few days early. Dad would pick them up and mail them to me. It was a glorious day the day the poster arrived. Dhop 1 Quote

We have threads that cover both Nick Marsh and the NCAA's lack of enforcement capabilities. Let's please ASAP get this thread back on track -- IUFB Recruiting and Transfer Updates. Thanksto! Way to go! Hoorah! Salutations! Quote
Elly Da La Dude Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Are there any other names we should be on the lookout for besides Frazier? Quote
Banksyrules Posted January 15 Posted January 15 We’re not connected to the lineman from Colorado……. But if we add him we simply win it all without question. Pagoda and skhoosier2 2 Quote
Crimson and Cream Posted January 15 Posted January 15 So at this point I would assume the biggest needs would be adding a LB, another RB (Makhi Frazier visiting Thursday), a TE (or 2), and obviously the biggest question being LT depending on Carter Smith's decision. I’ve got a sneaky hunch that Kaiden Turner is going to show out next year. He’s not a small guy, but when he plays he looks fastfastfast. Crimson and Cream 1 Quote

Lebowski Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 Now that we're going into year 3, I'm starting to see a trend with the staff regarding the portal. Try to sign at least one experienced player at every position. Experienced means, a player that has played significant snaps and extra bonus if they have multiple years of eligibility. I'm looking forward to see how the developed high school signees mix in next season. Questions like, will we see guys like Garcia, Hall, or Burrus get any snaps? Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I see multiple posters worried about the O line next season and saw these announcements today. Know absolutely nothing about any of them and they could be 4th stringers for all I know, just saw they were O linemen entering the portal. Garrison Banks - UCLA - 4 years elig. https://www.on3.com/college/ucla-bruins/news/ucla-offensive-lineman-garrison-blank-enters-transfer-portal/ Melvin Siani - Wake Forest Jordan Seaton - Colorado Reported as All-Conference Jamal Meriweather - Georgia Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Indiana WR Jackson Wasserstrom is entering the transfer portal, he tells @chris_hummer. He will remain with the Hoosiers for the national championship game on Monday. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder appeared in seven games this season, recording two catches for 17 yards Quote

He doesn't fit with IUFB. His run blocking and explosiveness are an issue. Albeit he is the better version of Benson, so what do I know Quote
Hovadipo Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Seaton also tricked Colorado's creative staff into making him an "I'm Hitting the Portal" video, so f*** that guy tbh. Pagoda and realTomCrean 2 Quote

Believe he is graduating in the spring so has a chance to get a post grad degree and play more somewhere else. Saw his Dad at a Peach Bowl pre game party and he said Jack told him they had a bad walk thru but said they would win by 2 TD’s or more. Felt pretty good after I heard that, lol.
