I was at IU when AT was— AT was extraordinary at IU.

. Fisher is the captain of this defense. It’s not just on field performance. He’s better than AT; he contributes to winning like no one I have ever seen for Indiana football

I played with AT and watched him every day.  All due respect?  No he isn't.

In case you needed some laughs. My favorite is that they claim Mendoza is a third tier QB

“DeAngelo Ponds is the only IU player that might start for Oregon.”

I actually enjoy these guys, but the one guy is an Oregon fan, and definitely was viewing it through duck beak yellow colored glasses this week.  Enjoyed seeing them eat crow last night.

They are a solid listen for a national podcast (this game notwithstanding).

I hate these types of conversations. Different players at different times. AT was an awesome player. I loved watching him and believe he should have won the best player that year. Fisher is the heartbeat of this years defense and also a great player. Can we just celebrate what each of them brings/brought to their respective teams without comparing them? I love what each of them brought to their respective teams.

I agree with you. 100% in fact.  That said..... In this case, this is a hill worthy of a discussion simply because of the player and person AT was and is.

We're talking about a guy who set and still holds the single game rushing record at IU as a freshman, holds the IU yardage record by over 1400 yards, the touchdown record by 23 (by 36...THIRTY SIX) over the next closest running back, led the Big Ten twice in yards, touchdowns, scoring, and get this.....offensive PLAYS  (he maybe missed 5 snaps in 4 years),  and finished 9th as a junior and 2nd as a senior in voting for the Heisman Trophy.

He also returned 18 kickoffs in his career averaging > 20 yards per return.  He was a 2 time Big Ten player of the year, the national player of the year, and won the Walter Camp and Maxwell POY awards.  Anyone can look up those lists and the names on it.

All due respect to Fisher, who I absolutely LOVE, and all due respect to you and Stuhoo...because I understand the love for Fisher; by no measure is he a better football player than Anthony was.

A debate about who different posters put at the top of the hill among great IU players?

Seems like center lane message board fun to me!

S’all good- when I get a chance I’ll break it out into a “IUFB Mount Rushmore” thread.
