Beebe Jr out for season with knee injury

was watching coaches Illinois preview and he mentioned that Beebe took a non contact injury on his knee and will be out for season....minutes later inside the hall had this article out.

Damn, he’s been fun to watch. This is why you collect depth. Probably gonna be a two-headed monster at RB like last year with Martin next man up

That sucks. I hope he makes a full recovery.  Fortunately, we have the depth to take this hit. Black + Hemby with Martin as a backup option is still a dynamite backfield.

Glad we have depth at RB this year. Still sucks, Beebe was just rounding into form. Hope the true Fr is ready for at least some Big Ten impact.

Yup and from all accounts we have a superb OL...which as we all know, plays a huge role in the running game

This is actually a really big loss. Beebe provided a different style needed for the type of RB by committee we run. I'm not sure there's a similar RB in the room.

And it happened early in the year. Great job by our scouting dept.. Beebe looked really good.

Cig suggested that Martin will get a shot in the rotation. I thought he was pretty impressive against ISU. I know, not Illinois level of competition, but he still showed some nice moves.

Last season we lost Rourke for a game but other than that were pretty much injury free. Hoping the law of averages doesn’t catch up with us this year.

Last season there weren't many injuries but there were still more than the one you listed, especially on the OL. Kidwell had a season (ended up being career) ending injury right before the season and Evans had a season ending injury. 

Luckily, IU is pretty deep at RB. The Bonds injury might hurt the team more than this one.

this one really bums me out. while i really like the other backs, Beebe was my favorite.

On tonight's radio show, Coach Cig said Beebe will get 2 more years of eligibility and have surgery in a few weeks.
