2025 IUFB Season

Recommended Posts

Some things are obvious ticket sales, fans, donor support, merchandise, etc etc but how do you measure the IU brand impact financially and the significance of Whitten, Dolson (he talked about blueprint in making this hire….where was the blueprints in making other hires rather than pulling them out of one’s backside lol…,or since it has worked so well now you had a blueprint…remember that on future hires.

And then the major main significance of Cignetti, his family, coaching staff, support staff and all others involved….back to the main point….the financial significance of the IU brand led by coach Cignetti….. measuring stick.

SELL THE MAIN LIBRARY TO BUY COOL FOOTBALL SOCKS FOR EVERYONE!!!!

(too much?)

I'm sure developers would love to turn the library into luxury apartments integrated with mixed use retail.

"The Herman B Wells Lofts."  Studios starting at $1,999/month.

I don’t disagree.  But the focus is on football now rather than wishing just get the football season over with so basketball season can start (accept basketball has become dismissal seasons as well).  Now, the last season and a half football is setting a bar to which basketball season can be measured against and it just so happens at the beginning of the school year.

as Pagoda points out.

What does being focused on football as a fan really means. Yes I will watch the games and discuss the team here. I can also do the same thing for basketball once the season starts so it isn't an either or

Or, we could just jump forward and call them "The Cignetti Lofts"?

I think the bigger point (maybe??) is that rather than football being so bad that the anticipation for basketball grows without merit, the football being good means fan enthusiasm for basketball will now have to be earned by the basketball team. Or I'm totally missing his point which is completely possible.

Looking at apartment rentals lately as in luxury upscale upwards of $3,000+/month.

Football first fan here.

In the past it meant many white russians to help with the sorrow. It means, in 1987, Bill Mallory took shotgun while Bobby Knight was in the backseat. It means, the small victories, like watching Tevin Colman carry the rock and average 7.1 yards a carry throughout his 3 year career in the 812, are glorious to be a part of. It means, watching an IUFB game over an IUBB should both be playing at the same time. It means, while visiting btownbanners, spending most of if not all of my time in this section. It means, I can't tell you who's on the current IUBB roster and coaching staff but can probably tell you about 90% to 99% of players and coaches backgrounds on the IUFB roster.

That's what 'focused on football' means for me anyway.

It’s also getting attached in a meaningful (thoughtful perspective and process) way to coaches and players as in you get to know the team, coaches and players image.  They grow on the fans….you actually get to know them and who they are.  It makes it so much easier to support and back the high level positive character they represent in the Cignetti era….He continually emphasizes the high character players and coaches in the/his program and thus far it has been remarkably demonstrated.

I am an IU fan

I am 55 years old and remember when you were lucky to watch 1 or 2 football games a year and had to listen to most games on the radio

I set there listening to many games where we lose 56-7

I also never understood how a fan can be a fan of one sport and not the rest. I like basketball more but I root for every IU sport to be successful

Wouldn't it be glorious if we completed an undefeated regular season with another 66-0 beatdown in front of a heavily-shaded-crimson crowd in West Lafayette?

I've already gone to sleep thinking about this possibility.

I got news for you, Paul, you can win anywhere in the B1G if you get the right coach, and IU has a huge alumni base.  The dude is a SEC homer who needs to find his "Precious".

IUFB > IUFBB for me. always was, always will be. Shaking hands with the HC of the football team has always meant more to me than shaking hands with HC of the basketball team. I've done both multiple times on multiple occasions in multiple decades.

Just because I value one sport over the other doesn't mean I don't root for or even pay for tickets to attend the other sport. You asked a question and I provided what that question you asked meant to me. No less, no more.

That’s what I am thinking.  It would be so good.  Might even take the clothes pin off my nose.

That looks a lot like the guy that compared Arch Manning to Tebow.
