We also shed the most losses record, Northwestern now has it, which is nice. That one was annoying. I’m sure there are some streaks out there that are interesting that we would like to break, but for me all the meaningful demons have been exorcised. cthomas and Home Jersey 2 Quote

Notre Dame can't afford to cancel any big games after their USC rivalry ended and ACC relations are strained. If anything we may need to drop them to get a more competitive OOC game on the schedule. 8bucks 1 Quote

There are like 6 or 7 bowl teams on that sucker. No way they can handle that Home Jersey 1 Quote

(though Kaelon was also great in pass pro) But Kaelon is bigger, stronger, has quicker initial burst, and is shiftier. It could be either, but if I had to guess which one will be getting some NFL carries a few years down the road, it would be Kaelon. Jeff Flabjohns 1 Quote

I don't think he's bigger. Stronger, probably, but I doubt it's by much. I think the way they run, their strides, alter some's opinion on burst. Hemby is absolutely bad fast and has serious burst but strides longer. There's a reason Hemby was the starter/given more carries/time on the field. I would take Hemby with the receiving ability and homerun chance. I think Black was a nice college running back, but I think NFL chances are slim. Quote

It's interesting that even with a long of 82 vs. Kaelon's long of 40, Kaelon had a higher ypc, even though Hemby clearly had more breakaway speed. And as the season progressed Kaelon was more often the featured or even split of carries back. He led us in rushing for the OSU game and all three CFP games. BannerVille and moyemayhem 2 Quote
Hovadipo Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Black was our best back down the stretch by far, imo. Rock solid in pass pro, reliably found creases, brought a different punch to the offense. He killed that Miami safety early in the game and set a tone. He's going to test something fierce on April 1st and make a GM look extremely smart. Related: No. 58 Kaelon Black, Indiana, running back One of the former James Madison players who followed Curt Cignetti to Bloomington, the 5-10, 210-pounder rushed for 251 yards and two TDs in limited action. Black vertical jumped 40 inches, bench pressed 415 pounds and squatted over 500 this summer. “He’s our biggest Freak for sure,” said DL Mikail Kamara. “When he lifts, everything moves so fast. He’s ridiculous. I’ve never seen him struggle (in the weight room). I saw him bench press 415 the other day, and it was butter. It touched his chest and went right back up. It looked like a warmup set. And he’s hella fast.” Stuhoo, moyemayhem, BannerVille and 1 other 4 Quote

He wasn't ever featured, they for sure split, but that was always going to happen in our offense. But Hemby still had like 4x the receptions and 50 more carries. I think Hemby has 3 down back capabilities in the NFL. Stuhoo 1 Quote
