Stuhoo Posted July 2 Author Posted July 2 Here's the task: For those 12 games, predict the record. Feel free to either summarize or go game by game. Ready... GO! Quote

Hovadipo Posted July 2 Posted July 2 9-3. You'd have to steal one of the Iowa/Oregon/PSU road games to put us back in the CFP convo, but those are all brutal in their own ways. The absolute floor is 7 (and you can talk me into 8) and I'll set the ceiling at 10. Pagoda 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted July 2 Posted July 2 8-4 because we're not going to surprise teams and be overlooked. thebigweave 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted July 2 Author Posted July 2 Absolute "doesn't matter if we have a bad day" 100% locked wins: ODU, Kennesaw, ISU, Purdump 80%+ - ish wins - either terrible teams on the road (MD) or mediocre teams at home: Maryland MSU Wisky UCLA Coin-flippers: Iowa Illinois Underdog of more than a TD: PSU Oregon Let's go with 8-0 on the easier ones, and 2-2 of the tougher ones. A revamped Oregon team coming off an IUFB bye and aPSU game the week after PSU is at OSU are both real possibilities. 10-2! hoopsta007, RoadRage, HoosierX and 2 others 5 Quote

Pagoda Posted July 2 Posted July 2 I’m not sure we really surprised teams or we benefitted much from unfamiliarity. Every game is so important — opposing staffs in the B1G are huge and look at all sorts of game film, including from JMU. They would know we were a threat definitely by the UCLA win. And 56-7 vs Nebraska (on Big Noon) had everyone’s attention. We have a lot of new guys this year, but they’re good. Range of wins is probably 7 to 10. I’ll shamefully say 9-3 as one game outside of Oregon and PSU trips us up. Stuhoo 1 Quote
Lebowski Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Here's my breakdown. Keep in mind, I believe every game is winnable, but that's just me. Can go our way ODU Kennesaw State Indiana St. MSU Maryland Wisconsin the school a few miles north west of IU. Possible UCLA Questionable Illinois Iowa Long Shots Oregon Penn St The Possible and Questionable category teams can easily be thrown into a hat. I have a feeling UCLA is going to be a lot better this year and both Illinois and Iowa are going to be really tough games for us. I do however think we have a really good shot at beating all of them. If we beat Illinois pretty handily buckle up, our conference season is going to be fun to watch, just like last year. We'll be in the discussion of CFP and Big Ten championship and both Oregon and PSU will be coin-flip games. If we lose or win close to Illinois, we'll be in some dog fights with the Questionable and Long Shots. But that doesn't mean we will lose. I truly believe we can win every game on the schedule. We've upgraded on both sides of the ball from a CFP team that had a two loss season to the CFP champion and CFP runner-up. Just like last year folks are overlooking IUFB this pre-season and I think we'll turn heads again this season. The Herbstreits will no longer bad mouth IUFB and will have to eat a poop ton of crow. I will be disappointed if we don't win 8 or 9 games. And honestly, I'll be upset if we lose any game. I haven't felt this confident with IUFB, ever. We've got a solid football team this year and our defense will win the important games for us. Pagoda, Home Jersey, thebigweave and 3 others 5 1 Quote
taco corp Posted July 2 Posted July 2 9-3 The Illinois, Iowa, Oregon and PSU games are all real tough. I could see us 2-2 in that stretch, which would put us at 10-2, but being conservative I want to pick 9-3. Prove me wrong Hoosiers and get to 10-2 and back in the CFP. There wouldn’t be a happier person on the planet. VPC 1 Quote
Home Jersey Posted July 2 Posted July 2 11-1 We drop Oregon and everyone else has to get used to seeing IUFB in the CFP. Lebowski, Pagoda, realTomCrean and 3 others 6 Quote

Iufan71 Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Im thinking 10-2...and maybe lose to illinois or iowa..but beat Oregon and lose to PSU. Never thought I would be more excited for IU football then IU Hoops or Steelers football....but here I am! Quote
Home Jersey Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Freezing cold take, but a lot will depend on how Mendoza does at QB. Don't think it can be understated how awesome Rourke was in year 1 of Cig. I'm thinking there will be a decent gap between the two, and I'm pretty high on Mendoza. Quote
