did mike woodson update the website? have we been wrong about him all along?

I think it was Armond Hill!

On a serious note, it's the SID's responsibility to update the website and post press releases. I haven't seen anything like this where there's simply no press releases. I don't see the reasoning behind it, there should be nothing holding it up other than someone saying don't release it.

Now that the bison mascot rollout is done, the athletic dept has shifted their focus to announcing the key leadership hires for our flagship program* that we hired several weeks ago!  :-)

Still no players listed on the website though.  Maybe that's a summer project for the AD.

* I know football brings in more money and it's growing at IU, but we're still technically a basketball school... for now.

Is that really the best picture they could get of him? "Hey Drew, I know you just came off a 36 hr bender and you slept for 8hrs in the sun, but, here, put on this ill-fitting shirt and this pre-tied tie my 13yo was practicing on and we're gonna take a picture of you and put it out in public. Nah, don't worry about shaving, Dude, you look good. The double chin is no problem"

Our assistants are not going to win any best looking contest.

But who cares.  Get players.  Develop players.  Thats all that matters.

What does a director of player personnel do?

Rabjohns answered the same question on 247.  It entails scouting, player development, working with the rest of the staff on roster construction and the inevitable other duties as may be assigned.  It is not intended that he'll be an on-the-road recruiter.  One of the key issues to how his job is titled is that there is an NCAA limitation on the number of assistant coaches (5) a team may have but no cap on the number of support personnel.
