IUBB vs Illinois - Tuesday, 01.14.25 @ 7:00 on Peacock

Buddy, if you get this thing turned around I’ll boo you for saving Woodsons job.

I feel bad for him, actually. He plays hard and playing at IU was his dream and this was the only way. But there’s not a lot of runway left for a happy ending

I feel bad for a lot of the millionaires involved in this mess. Players and coaches alike. Lol. Utterly embarrassing efforts being put forth. Almost like we are all participating in an episode of Punk’d where the players just simply don’t try and see how everyone reacts. Rarely seen this level of bad play.

What the he'll does this even mean? The fans are booing your **** effort and terrible basketball! So if infact you turn it around and actually play good your own fans can't cheer for you? Should say the way we have played is unacceptable and we understand why they are booing and we are going to work hard to get better to meet the expectations!

Exactly.  When the fans care more than the players it's a problem.  Players should be booing themselves and taking accountability for the turd they laid on the court.

Goode, I love you dude, BUT you’re baking up a dead hogs azz with that comment and the team’s results PROVE IT.

It is quite evident the fans want it more than the Coaches and Players do.

Look in the mirror, get back to us and tell us where the problems lie.

Leal plays hard. So does Goode. Hell even a guy like Carlyle gives effort. They’re just a collection of guys thrown together that desperately need coached. And they aren’t getting it.

There are some guys who don’t give tons of effort and that’s BS. But I put 90% of the blame on the coach.

Sorry, dude -- I grew up in Indiana, graduated from Indiana and have been a fan for 40 years.

You've been at IU for five months.

YOU F--KING DO NOT GET TO TELL ME HOW TO BE A FAN.

If you haven’t, you all should watch Leal and Goode’s post game presser. Until then I suggest judgment be reserved.

Goode and Leal fully understand and accepted responsibility and are embarrassed. They ended by saying they need to have tough conversations to get things turned around, and asked that fans stay with them when they do so.

Yes the tweet totally lacks context and is just one snippet that sounds bad at a surface level. I don't love the word choice but his broader message was very much that they understand this is embarrassing and need accountability. To me it's just a typical college athlete sounding cocky that they're going to turn it around trying to will it into existence / believing they can be competitive.

I would expect that mentality. Didn't see a need to tell fans not to switch up or whatever but this adversarial relationship with the fans has been a thing under Woody, so it's whatever honestly. I think Goode is a nice kid and glad he gets to be a Hoosier. Would be happy to have him playing for a new coach here next year.

I don't have much sympathy for the millionaires who funded this crap show.

These idiots need to stop meddling with IUBB.  They know jack **** about how to hire the right coach and manage a successful program.

One thing I think is very impressive is Rice and Ballo coming to the aid and standing up for Goode.

A lot of problems on this team but ……team cohesion isn’t one of them.

Despite the Coaching, the talent needs to rise to the top and flat out PLAY!

LFG!!!

National media are now killing Woody—and this team—I’d say his seat is the hottest in the country.
