CSP Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 We go, at worst, 10-2 with TJ as our starting QB, IMO. Would anyone be clamoring to replace him if that had transpired this season? Just discussion. I don't really care who starts at QB, I do like TJ's ability to run, though. Doesn't he look pretty damn fast or are my eyes deceiving me? Redcamaro 1 Quote

If he was pedestrian and we won in large part because of our defense and ground game then yes, absolutely I’d be looking to replace him. If Coach Cignetti finds another quality, successful veteran, qb, even one with a few years left, he's gonna go get him. If he want's Jackson, Cherry or Mendoza to eventally be the starter, then bring on the competition including the new portal qb. The best man will win when the season starts. It's a tough gig, but Cignetti and Co. have proven it works. GO IU! Hoosierfan2017 and 8bucks 2 Quote

Stuhoo Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Successful coordinators become head coaches. Successful assistants become coordinators. It's a 'happy problem' that IUFB will hopefully be presented with on a regular basis in the future. BtownStrength, eddy4iu, Home Jersey and 2 others 5 Quote
HoosierFan1994 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 As far as IU's matchup in the first round, I think there are 4 likely teams: Penn State, Ohio State, Texas, and possibly Georgia. Really only the Big Ten and SEC champ games have an outcome on this. Order is from most likely to least likely based on vegas odds. Oregon and Texas win (IU at Penn State): I think it goes 5) ND, 6) OSU, 7) Penn State, 8) Georgia, 9) Tennessee, 10) IU Oregon and Georgia win (IU at Ohio State): 5) ND, 6) Texas, 7) OSU, 8) Penn State, 9) Tennessee, 10) IU Penn State and Texas win (IU at Ohio State..maybe Georgia): 5) Oregon, 6) ND, 7) OSU, 8) Georgia, 9) Tennessee, 10) IU Penn State and Georgia win (IU at Texas) 5) Oregon, 6) ND, 7) Texas, 8) OSU, 9) Tennssee, 10) IU I think this Indiana team can go into Penn State and win. Unless it's a Friday night game I don't see it being in primetime...just better matchups they'll put in that slot. I'd like another crack at Ohio State. I wonder how that team will respond after losing to Michigan. There is a part of that fan base that wants them to lose first round so they can fire Ryan Day. I don't want any part of Georgia or Texas...Not sure why, just see us losing to them on the road. Quote
Hovadipo Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Would very much like for this to be true. Edit: Osterman just confirmed that Tino will stay through the CFP. Quote

Yep, this was expected after the season IU just had. Even with others signing new contracts, I'd be surprised if he's the only one targeted. CCC obviously knows how to identify and hire good assistant coaches so I'm confident we'll get a good replacement. cthomas and thebigweave 2 Quote

TTT Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 As IU coach talks about Blueprint….9 assistants and strength coach already signed multi year contracts to remain at IU. That’s strong stability and commitment from all led by the coach. Keeping the main OC and replacing just this position is really stable. How many more assistants that may have new opportunities might be in question but there is a solid J.M. pipeline along with I am sure other network connections. Quote
JSHoosier Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hate to lose Sunseri right after getting a big increase in salary for assistants, but having assistants other programs want is a good problem to have. Good thing the others are staying on board. go iu bb 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hard to believe that Haines isn’t going to be a head coach soon Quote
