My IUFB predictions for 2024

  • A winning season
  • Offensive records will be broken
  • Defense will have more than 30 sacks and at least 20 takeaways
  • Ranked and in the CFP discussion at one point during the season
  • Bowl eligibility earned by November
  • Multiple NFL draft picks

It took the last game of the season to accomplish this. They have accomplished everything on this list except the NFL draft. That will be determined in April 2025.

Guy down the street from me put a big OSU flag on his truck after OSU beat us. After OSU lost to Michigan, he took it off. lol

Bet he ripped that thing down harder than Jack Sawyer took the Michigan flag off the pole in the brawl.

Assuming Oregon and Texas win the likely 4 sites are all pretty close.

Penn State isn’t close to anything. Been there, done that, and I’m dreading that being the draw. Other than that, two easy drives (ND, OSU) or easy flights (UGA, Texas) seem to be the possibilities.

Eh that’s fair. I’ve always had a pretty high tolerance for driving. I’d rather drive 8 hours than 5 hours going thru the airport

I agree. PSU would be a drive. You’re flying to Pitt or DC/Baltimore just to drive another 3 hours to State College basically. That one is a crap sandwich no matter how you slice it.

I would just drive from my place. 9 hour drive with a stop or two to go the restroom.  But like I said. Pretty high tolerance for driving.

Anybody have insight on how much tickets would be if we end up on the road and if there would be any kind of an allotment for our fans?

Road teams get something like 3,500 tickets.  Can’t imagine those will be easy to get hands on unless you know someone. You can look on re-sale sites for other schools already, but I’m not thinking those prices are accurate at this point, for better or worse. For example, if we play at ND I’m guessing current prices would just about triple and they’re already around $400 to get in.

That’s kind of what I figured. UGA would be closest to me, but A) prices will probably be outrageous and B) that’s the matchup I most fear potentially being blown out in.

You’re right on A and I agree about B. UGA is sitting around $600 per to get in right now. Highest I’ve seen by a couple hundred bucks.

Someone may have already covered this but I looked and couldn't find it. So the 4 losers in the first round of the CFP are done, they are not eligible for a Bowl game? I suppose the playoff game is their Bowl game even though it is not officially a Bowl and they may have to play it on someone else's home field. I get that this is a real honor to play in the CFP with a chance to win a National Championship, but the 4 losers in the first round kind of miss out on the Bowl experience and I wonder if in the long run they lose money?
