I’d be shocked if we’re not shaking this bush pretty hard. It may amount to nothing, but there a probably a couple good Euros out there who are on the fence about making the jump to America or not.

Yup. Will more than a little surprised if the 3rd big isn’t a Euro that we’ve probably barely heard of.

I think the volume 3 big wing is the difference between 6th in the Big Ten and in the hunt down the stretch. Mostly because of my hesitancy to totally trust Coach's ability to come out of his offensive comfort zone. If we play 4 out for 20 minutes running a lot of last years stuff I don't know he THE GUY will be.

With the way the team is built, he’d better be comfortable running different stuff than last year. I think for all the issues last year, Xs and Os versatility won’t be a problem this season.  Everyone says CDD is a great Xs and Os guy. We might just be a defensive juggernaut with a a slightly above average-ish offense—although one that can get crunch time buckets thanks to guys like Burton.

I’d love another 3 and D type guy, but you have to think the staff has scouted Lyndsey and Harris to be our primary spot up shooters with Burton and Sherrell adding enough from the arc to satisfy what CDD wants to do. The 3 freshman sit out there as potential X factors too.

I would rather get one more player that can contribute. Like a volume 3 . Then 3 basically practice players.

Dwayne aristode would be nice but he’s probably too expensive and the number of big wings that can shoot is dwindling

There were a couple of summers in a row that I went to a lot of events. I'd compare my thoughts to what a lot of the scouts would say. Why not I'm an iu fan in my 50's I know everything.  So I go back to look at what the 247 scout wrote about the kids out of high school. Aristotle had the dreaded "motor" questions.

It's hard to catch the intangibles that can ruin chemistry unless you're there to see these kids live. I'd love Nico Budalo as our 3rd big, based on effort and measurables, but he's nuttier than a squirrel turd.

Year 1a needs to be successfully safe. No craziness or character gambles. I think we have that now. Top 6 in the Big Ten. Set our identity. Coach needs to prove a couple of things. Can he coach elite talent and can he win a tournament game.

I'll take a live body with experience as third big and let's take a run at Momcilovic.  That means we wanna win the conference.  Hell,  then give a senior walk on the third scholly..

Damian Willinson sophomore from SD State is interesting. Hits the offensive glass.

Hate to be that guy but it is Damon Wilkinson. He does look like a potential end of the bench contributor. 6'10" 245

Awful quiet here....

Man I know the no leak policy is necessary to keep other schools from swooping in and stealing a kid you are watching and in on. But it sure would be nice to know what is going on. Still quite a few potential backup forwards and centers out there  granted all with warts but tons of potential. And this is Little 500 weekend, what a great time to have a kid visit- beautiful weather forecasted and the coeds will be out in force.

I think quite a few schools are probably keeping a spot of two open in case the NCAA ends up allowing seniors an extra year in their five for five ruling.  That said, I don't see them ruling that way.  I also think with three spots open, it best be that we pick up a third big sooner than later.  There are still some capable options now.

Give me:

Josiah Parker-wing FAU

Sheek Pearson-forward-Marquette

Emeka Opurum-center- Auburn

Odds of that happening 0%

Devin Williams -- center, FAU.  7.5 pts, 5.2 reb and 2.6 blocks in 24 minutes/game at Florida Atlantic.  Really good rim protector and can play the 4 or 5.  Put up 16 games of 3 or more blocks.  Developing outside game -- hit 31% from three on 49 attempts.

10% of the top 200 players in the portal are still available. Plenty of bigs below that. Nico Bundalo would be great if he's wired right. Questions I'm that department.
