Transfer Portal Scrapes w/IU Interest

I'm feeling pretty good about this. 

Sherrell, Khamania, Mustaf and Burton with Harris and Clark off the bench would be outstanding. I think Reibe as the back-up 4/5 would be outstanding.  Doubt he would want to come here for that. I think with those above names and a big ten caliber 5 we can compete at a high level.

Rabby also posted that Houston is officially out on Burton as they took another PG today.

Dedan Thomas committed to Houston. Don’t even know who else is in on Burton at this point and would be shocked if we don’t get him

Yes, once his medical redshirt is approved by NCAA after next season.

But the “market price” changes if Houston’s no longer pursuing him imo. I don’t have a problem giving MB $2.5-$3 million but not $4. Personally I’d be reluctant to even give Sherrell $4 million, but I suspect IU might have to if they want to beat out other schools for Sherrell.

But what if Duke, Auburn, Michigan, etc., decide now that they know Houston's out they decide they'll have a go at him?

Why haven't we reached out to Najai Hines for f sake? Him and Sherrell together would be lethal. We put a feeler on Donnie Syracuse.  All I can think is, the bigs we have reached out to, have some perimeter skills.

I would love to see at least 2 guards sign this weekend.  That should make it easier to sign some big men.  Good players want to know who they are going to play with.

Imagine he’s looking for the ridiculously inflated starting C numbers and if Sherrell really is the guy they’ve identified as priority 1 they’ll probably continue working on a combination of backup 5’s and guys they consider value plays until he says no.

Duke can get almost anyone they want and could have some guys more highly rated than MB for all we know.

Thought I saw somewhere that Michigan’s PG will be returning next season. If Burton’s willing to pick a program like Auburn over home-state IU for an additional half-million or million, so be it. I guess you sign Clark’s nephew at that point and spend the “Burton money” on Sherrell and another shooter and a promising “power forward” type.
