Very few of these guys are actually worth what they’re being paid. A guy like Cupps is allegedly getting paid $600k. He’s “worth” a scholarship and board, imo. But in this anything goes landscape a player is worth whatever a school is willing to pay, and some schools are willing to pay basically anything to win. We're trying to win basketball games. Being relevant in year 1 with a new staff is incredibly valuable (see Mich/UL). I don't have a problem paying above market rate if it means we're playing in the second weekend next March. Jet812, taco corp, OKHOOSIER and 4 others 7 Quote

Maybe, but I’m willing to pay an absolute premium for 2 things: 1) an elite skill, and 2) a kid with a giant chip on his shoulder and a desire to prove everybody underestimated him. That kid’s got’em bith. Crimson and Cream, Home Jersey, Stuhoo and 8 others 11 Quote

The investors (boosters), not the athletic department, are the ones who would be paying the most for players. For them, the return is winning games. FightFor6, moyemayhem, lillurk and 1 other 4 Quote

Paying a talented guard a few hundred K more than market value doesn't move a needle. Some of you guys will argue semantics in your grave. AkronHoosier and thebigweave 2 Quote

Off ball movement that lacked so horribly from Woodson’s teams will be back with a vengeance. Can also play 5 out with Bailey which is unique. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app Can Tucker not guard a 3? Asking because it seems the Bailey kid would be a perfect 4 and we definitely need rim protection at the 5. Quote
