Interesting IMO that Mgbako, Tucker, and Carlyle have not signed anywhere yet.  Obviously not coming back to IU but I would have thought that Mgbako and Tucker would be zeroing in on places.  I know Mgbako visited Kentucky but that was a little while ago.

UK took that Bama kid.  Don’t think they will want him.

Kentucky is still looking for a shooter too. It makes me feel validated that UK looked at him and passed. How that guy maintained a five star ranking with no one realizing what a dud he was is beyond me.

And they are doing work out of some breakfast nook in the corner since Woody still has not given up his office.

The sensible part of me recognizes this as a joke, but there's a part of me that feels like this could actually be true lol

6'8/6'9 16yr olds that can shoot and look like a man-child down low fool recruiting "experts" often.

Really like the fit, curious about his rim protection #s.

Fun fact: the top comp for his most recent season on Torvik is…Race Thompson from 2021-2022.

physical kid but that free throw shooting is something else.  I guess if your defense can make up for it.

I like him as a rebounding presence + strong finisher at the rim.  From the free throw line.....he's an adventure.

Problem is that he moves like he' 6'11" with arthritis.  Will be interesting to see wherever he lands if a new coach can fix his defensive issues.

Specifically, as a 16-year-old. I think he's terrible, tbh, and laugh at him being considered a T20 player.

I was only speaking to "how'd he maintain his rating" ... it baffles me, as well.

The daily Hoosier lists Dallas James as a possibility to return.  Not saying he wants to, or we want him too but I thought he was a SR.

TDH lists him as eligible to return, but when his transfer to IU was announced it said he was a grad student using his 5th season of eligibility.

“How’d he maintain his rating” … The Mike Woodson factor lol. Seems like a good bet he will be more productive elsewhere like Bates, Gunn, Banks. He could be another Geronimo, but unlike Geronimo, MM actually does have some basketball skill, albeit way less athletic and still very one dimensional. Like you said, having that size… IMO somebody will take a flyer on him thinking they know a better way of setting him up for success/covering weaknesses. We will see how it works out for them.

I always thought he looked really stiff and awkward. Like his arms don’t even hang at his sides comfortably looking.

Also I thought this year he developed a really mean streak and not in a good way. Always in the mix chirping or bumping/shoving when it’s absolutely unnecessary.

He can get another year. Maybe 2.

I doubt he stays at IU if he keeps "playing."

He played 4 years but 1 was the COVID year which didn't count. He didn't play this year which means it was a redshirt year so he can get another year. He also had a season with only 8 games played so he might be able to get a medical redshirt on top of that.
