(Maybe the only guy who gave a **** down the stretch) He improved from where he was at beginning of the season. But he's such a zero on offense that he needs to be a lock down type defender to get significant playing time in my opinion. He's not there yet, but his improvement during the year has me hopeful. I'd still keep both Miles and Dorn personally as they both can fill different roles off the bench. (No idea what we paid Dorn, but could see the argument if we overpaid last offseason). We need 5 starters out of the portal regardless of who stays and goes. Id personally rather have 2 guys with a year in the system give us 10 minutes a game next year. (Need Dorn to be more consistent from deep, but I think a more limited role would improve his percentage numbers since he wouldnt (hopefully) have to force things as much) Hardwood83 and Home Jersey 2 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago The head sportswriter for the South Bend Tribune did quite a story on the ND basketball program and specifically stated he expects Markus Burton and Jalan Haralson to portal. Really interesting that the local newspaper would go this hard at ND whom they typically treat with oven mitts. https://www.southbendtribune.com/story/sports/college/basketball/2026/03/25/notre-dame-basketball-transfer-portal-departures-update-shrewsberry/89323415007/ Jeff Flabjohns 1 Quote

Unexpectedflash Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Is orme a center or a pf? There aren’t that many videos of him but he can obviously shoot. I thought he looked slow though and I’m not sure is big enough to be a center. Granted the videos i watched were only 1 min long lol Quote

The case for Dorn on this team in particular is that we only have two Big Ten caliber players eligible to return. Not sure we are in a position to run one of them off because he is flawed. Hoosierfanyuh Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Complaining about 1 player when we’ll likely need 7 more after him is a choice. A shooter off the bench is just fine. Quote
Hoosierfanyuh Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I do think he’s a tad redundant with Sisley, though ebridges24 and ronzo4IU 2 Quote

But the argument of "if you don't count the games he played well, his stats actually aren't that good" has always been funny to me. Dorn is a bench piece or at best a 5th starter type at this level. I do consider him a high major caliber player though. WayneFleekHoosier and Home Jersey 2 Quote

Granted the videos i watched were only 1 min long lol Have watched him since he was about 10 playing with Jake Davis and Logan Imes on the AAU circuit as well as thru the Carmel years and he has always been a skilled perimeter kid that grew into a stretch 4. Seemingly would be an ideal shooting/spacing forward off the bench that can guard a little bit in the post. Question is whether his long time family ties to IU win out accepting that role over the chance to start and play more elsewhere such as for Alexander at KSt. My friend knows him and the family and he seems to think he will end up at IU. If you subtract out his slump in February, his percentage would be mid-40s. See how ridiculous this is? The full truth is Nick Dorn took 158 attempts from three this season. They all counted. He shot 38%. eddy4iu and Home Jersey 2 Quote

It should come down to what starting 5 we land in the portal and if he is wiling to come off the bench and work his tail bone off to get better on D. Put up 500 3's a day to get better because he does have a nice looking stroke. Home Jersey 1 Quote
