Come on now. I know that but what has nothing to do with what the administration is thinking. You came on here saying they talked to assistants about being an interim coach and now people actually believed that. To me this causes a fire storm when this doesn't happen and everyone blames the administration for backing down. I just don't think those talks ever happened because no AD would go to the assistants before they fired the HC. BGleas 1
Stuhoo Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 Just now, AZ Hoosier said: Don't forget that Woodson and co actually coached the team in that game, too. I think even Sleepy Armond was alert and engaged. I think the IU staff actively coached the team in the Northwestern loss this week. The difference is that Nicholson had a much better ability to keep Ballo relatively in check and IU's usual defensive lapses and bad techniques were exposed by Northwestern's shooters. Just heard Dusty May say that he doesn't ever want to coach concepts and principles in-game; that's something that needs to be instilled over the countless hours of practice. Dusty said he only wants to point out some select things he notices during games, but otherwise he wants to say as little as possible so that his team can focus on the game, not think about what the coach is thinking. Safe to say that IU's problems arise from lack of connectivity, plan, and technique over those countless hours of practice. thebigweave, choosierred1, AZ Hoosier and 4 others 6 1

Hornsby Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 The more I think about the reason we are in this complete mess is ferguson. Sure quinn pushed the 4th year but without complete moron ferguson writing checks with the cooks money none of these guys are here. Ferguson is a bad dude who only cares about his boy. He clearly doesn't care about the program it's personal to him. Now he will write the Bosnian a massive check. It's just mind blowing an 86 year old clown is running men's bbal.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk
Hornsby Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 I second this! Or “ FK Quinn Buckner”. Stomp, stomp stomp. Repeat…..No ferguson chant that clown is the one who brought this on.Sent from my SM-A146U using Tapatalk

So the administration had plans to fire Mike Woodson mid-season, told assistants this was going to be the plan, couldn't get any assistant to take the interim job, and then just acted like nothing happened? Lol. I truly don't think even you don't believe half the stuff you share on here. That or you're extremely gullible. IU is not firing a coach mid-season, especially one of their own. Just isn't happening. The best this fan base can hope for is a joint statement from Woodson/administration announcing that he's stepping down at the conclusion of the season. If/when that happens, I expect it to be sometime before IU's last game, a home game on senior day.

If IU continues to play poorly the remainder of the season the noise will become increasingly loud, especially the fans during the game. ……no way in H#ll he is publicly stepping down after a home game, especially not Senior Night!! Hornsby Posted January 24, 2025 Posted January 24, 2025 This guy has ruined the program. I'd like to thank the Ferguson family, Steve and his whole family because he's been a major mentor in my life; the Cook family He is probably writing the Bosnian a million dollar check today. I don't think he isn't fired because of it being bad optics, I just feel it is that they don't believe in firing a coach in season. I would feel that way if we were 8-12 right now. I also don't see what firing a coach mid season does for the future of the program. The only thing it does is ease the minds of the fans knowing there will be a change. It isn't like we can do interviews during the season since the candidates still has a current job. They can do back channel talks even if Woodson has a still coaching so nothing would be different. It wouldn't help in recruiting since we won't be recruiting until the new staff is in place.
