No opinion on the Samford HC, though he’s done incredibly well there. The other 3 are obvious candidates. I’d add Medved, though he’s probably early 50’s and that might be the outer age limit for a guy moving up in class. Among the big name home run-types, you keep reading that Arizona has an NIL problem. Is Lloyd poachable? It’ll be interesting. Can’t imagine it wouldn’t be a quick process.

Medved might be a problem. He's been super-successful at CSU for seven years and no big program has come calling. To me that's a red flag.

Wes Miller has a $13 million buyout for the next few years. Even for a wealthy school like IU that's pretty high.

Didn’t someone say that Dusty May negotiated a low buyout after his first year at Michigan?

Exactly. Try selling Woodson's song and dance crap to Curt Cignetti. As you have said, CCC has flipped the roster and changed the culture of the football program and is actually coaching the players and being successful... and we're only TEN GAMES into his tenure - one-tenth of the time Woodson has had...the results speak for themselves.

Cignetti has real assistants that coach as well.  Our top 2 guys would all be number 3 recruiting guys on any other bench.

Anyone else awaiting Woodson's NBA connections to pay dividends finally? That was one of his main appeals, no? In addition to being an alumni?

This guy never would've been hired if he didn't play at Indiana. How sad is that to think about?

How would you know anything about this game if you weren’t paying attention?

For all you know, we were ahead by 25 and they hit a few prayer 3 point shots.

If you want to criticize the book, you should at least read it

Blowing a lead of 25 points at home to a team ranked in the 150s only to claw back an 11 point win isn’t the flex you think it is here, but go off.

But they don't question Mike Woodson.

Weren’t they rated much lower than that?

I don’t think they would be that high!

Y'all want to start discussing our next coach and credentials really think you should start a new thread devoted to just that topic.

I think it fits here!

Yep. This was stated over and over when he was hired... and 3+ years later, nothing has changed... he's still unhireable, yet, here he is, still clueless.

Watching him on the bench, that is obvious!  He’s got that deer in the headlights look

And nothing says "we're not serious" like hiring someone simply because he played there 40 years ago.

Honestly, Crean would be a better coach and fit than Woodson.  With the current transfer portal and NIL, I think Crean could excel as a coach, definitely better than Woodson

Yeah that’s actually a good point. Crean could probably do very well with defensive minded guys who had been given feedback from the combine they needed to improve their offense.  He’d have a real niche.

fits his mold of the quick recruitment versus long term relationship
