I finally seen it!  Darnit!  I severely disappointed!
It's just the iu way. You get one crack at these guys and quinn made sure we weren't getting that crack. Happened with Matta back in 2004 also. The iu way.

Me too however this is kind of where I thought it would go. Day late dollar short. Letting QB force Woody on us cost IU. Will be an interesting several weeks. Who is plan C? I like Beard but I’m sure IU doesn’t go in that direction so beyond that there’s plenty to look at or try and throw money at but I don’t see the Drews/Oats/Pearls leaving their situations. Dusty was my top realistic choice…

I think we end up with a super unexciting hire like Brad bronwell. Iu is not nor has it been willing to take the steps needed to win.

Mine too and Beard is my 3rd choice.  They need to do their due diligence and prove to themselves and us that Beard isn’t a viable candidate!  If they do they do their homework and then they decide he’s not the right candidate, then and only then, we can move on from Besrd

Agree with you. I’ve been so apathetic about our program for so long I just want to see a good coach that can win. I want to be excited about IU basketball again. You are never going to please everyone. But I feel like winning cures a lot of those fractures. Maybe Scott will prove me wrong. Maybe he finds the CCC of basketball.

But don't dare hire beard because some of our holier than though perfect humans on the other thread who have never done anything bad hate him. The holier than thou attitude of some is just unreal. Talk about people full of themselves.

Yes. Other boards are like that too. I just try to steer clear as I’d rather discuss not argue. I’m not going to change anyone’s mind. Everyone has an opinion. Put in a morals clause. Do due diligence. Talk to Beard. If after you really feel you can’t take the risk then move on. But here’s the thing, I want a coach that wants to be at IU. I don’t want to have to beg or plead or settle. Passing on him again after he’s at Ole Miss likely will make the next candidate down underwhelming to most of the fanbase. Again maybe Scott surprises me and I’m off base. I hope so. Maybe Beard would walk the straight and narrow for an opportunity of a lifetime at IU. I doubt we will ever know…

I hear ya. For this time only, IU should get down from the high horse and hire Beard. It's kind of funny to think that IU and its fanbase tolerated RMK for decades and even idolized him despite all his shortcomings as a human being.

That be me and I want nothing to do with Beard.  I worked in an industry dominated by females and I saw too many come in to work with bruises and even broken arms because they "fell".  No other explanations, they just "fell".  Do not want Beard anywhere near our program.

By having Woodson’s status announced so early, we gave UM and plenty of other schools the opportunity to tie up their coaches before we could ever get to them. No matter with May as he said “No, thanks” a couple of weeks ago, but it’s why waiting until the season ends is the way we wanted to do it - and why MWs decision to check out was a middle finger to us.

Lol. This is 100% the wrong take in every possible way. Literally couldn’t be more wrong.

I agree that IU tends to have a holier than thou mindset, but when UK and UL won't touch you then your issues are downright toxic.

UM wasn’t going to extend May if we waited til the end of the season to fire Bigfoot?

Thanks for sharing ... but doubt it's even remotely close to the truth...

The attitude of some of the coaching board is just unreal. They act like they have never swore in their life and beard is the second coming of the devil. I don't like people like that it's not up to me to judge others. And heaven forbid someone gets a second chance. That board is toxic imo.

1.  Does coach Woodson receive a lifetime season ticket/s upon his retirement…or do all ex players who completed their careers at IU already have lifetime passes?

2. If IU is unable to find an acceptable coach…does IU re-enter negotiations with coach Woodson?

3. Option:  Josh Schertz with $6,000,000 NIL
