Actually in this case beating a team like UNCG by 11 won’t hurt their resume as much as you would think.   Spread was 17 and this program actually has a pulse unlike the teams last year they were winning by single digits against.  When you have a program rolling these are the teams you want to schedule for  your SOS.    UNCG has won 20 games or more 7 out of the last 8 years.  However  IU still needs a new though

I would rather be the 1 loss team that has a win over a top 5 team and a loss to a top 10 team on the road then a team that is undefeated against 4 non tournament quality teams

I didn’t watch the game. I’m not posting in the game thread so as to not clutter it for those who did. This is the Fire Mike Woodson thread. The team isn’t short on talent, Woody’s buddies made sure of that. So, an 11 point win against some random team in late November means one thing and one thing only - Mike Woodson being Mike Woodson. I don’t have to watch this specific chapter to know it’s the same book we’ve been reading for the past four years.

I’ve watched enough basketball to know what’s coming. We still don’t boxout after 4 years of Woodson. The most fundamental part of basketball that I teach my 3rd graders.

 

Our team motto is we have enough talent, someone will go off. But because of that it’s a my turn/your turn offense other than a team offense where the ball moves, we probe, ball moves, we probe, we take the open shot or get a layup.

 

Instead it’s like a predetermined offensive where guys take turns. It’s predictable, it’s easy to guard and we will absolutely lose games we shouldn’t because we are disjointed and selfish.

How would you know anything about this game if you weren’t paying attention?

For all you know, we were ahead by 25 and they hit a few prayer 3 point shots.

If you want to criticize the book, you should at least read it

Because it was a 3 point game with 12 minutes left in the second half when I saw the score as I was scrolling through espn. Not exactly a rarity during cupcake season for Mike Woodson’s ball club.

I’ve read the book plenty the past 3 years. I hate watching Mike Woodson basketball. It’s not an enjoyable style. Even the wins are often ugly. Instead, I’m wrapping up work for the week before I head to Columbus to watch the 10-0 Indiana football team play, essentially  for a playoff berth. Maybe a new basketball coach next year will have similar success.

Why are you confused over 2017? He has admitted that he won’t watch the games. 
 

In regards to this statement… Is that your sentiment in regards to OSU football. You know, the program that spent $20 million on their players?

You willing to make that statement on the football thread? That they should win by big margins on Saturday because they spent the money?

Actually, as much money and pay raises for doing such a wonderful body of work that is paid to coach and staff and poured into players…I am sure the coach and staff, players and rest of those responsible for the men’s basketball at IU do not need any recommendations or suggestions.  They probably do not even have to practice if they don’t want to.
