The thing is, he won't be offered the job. So whether or not he'd accept is moot. Not a realistic candidate because he won't be an actual candidate.

I’ve never accused the IU administration of being competent have I?

Exactly. And we’re not willing to give a guy 2-3 years to get an unorthodox system instituted and the right personnel in place. Whether it’s Brad, Dusty, or the next door neighbor…you better win and you better do it quickly or the pitchforks come out.

But we gave Archie 4 years to install his terrible offense?

That is true because I just went to Sam's for the family on my lunch break and saw Armond Hill there buying some water and some chips. He wasn't dressed in any IU gear, which I understood. I just asked him if he was doing ok and if it was a late night getting in. He gave me a thumbs-up and went on.

At Hill’s age he probably is just glad to wake up and see the sunrise.

If they hire someone the fans really want that will not be the case.  Although obviously that would be the first time that has happened since the Knight firing so I’m not optimistic that they will.

I don't think Woodson will easily go or retire.  I know nobody wants to think about this and I'm certainly against it...but what if...what if Woodson is coaching here next year? What does the Program even look like if that's the case? Again, I'm in no way saying he's going to be coaching next year...but until he "retires" (which i don't think he will) or Dolson has cojones and makes the move, he's still on the sideline. Depressing thought.

If there was another year of Woodson there would be Egyptian mummies in better shape than this program.

Archie was a very popular hire within Indiana and around the country. Results were pretty ****, but the hire was very popular. Even Bob Knight liked the hire.

Bob Knight praised Archie Miller, the head coach of Indiana University's men's basketball team, by saying, "This kid (Miller) is going to do a good job". Knight also said, "You folks are going to appreciate him, but it ain't gonna happen in a year

Yeah? And the pitchforks were out before his 2nd season ended. Once you lose this fanbase, you’re effectively done.

Giving Archie more years won't magically make him a better coach. I don't understand the logic

When I was down at the Winthrop game, the team came out officially for warm ups...Armond went straight to the bench and did not engage with a coach or player and had the  same look he always has and acted like he was on the couch watching the news. I have never seen someone so dis engaged in such a loud and eventful arena lol. Ultimately I looked up what his background was and the dude is the real deal, but obviously lacks any kind of help to this team.

anyways....Fire Woody!

There are some people here who either support domestic violence or find it socially acceptable at the very least as long as basketball games are won. I'm all for second chances, but not further risking the already shaky moral reputation of the athletic department representing the largest and flagship public institution of learning in the state. There are more coaches out there than Chris Beard who can win big at Indiana and will take the job without increasing risk for another embarrassing termination.

Shaky moral reputation? Lol what?

You described it perfectly. Dude is the real deal and has been around forever, but what he does to help IU I'm not sure. He's just the head coaches buddy I think

Can someone explain why Chris Beard gets so much love while Will Wade does not? Unless I'm missing something, I would think that Wade's issues would be much less concerning than Beard's. And the dude wins everywhere he goes.

Oh you mean when we started 12-2 and then lost 12 of the next 13 games with Romeo Langford on the team? The horror. That was enough to warrant firing him, but iu, as always, was late to the party.

You don’t need 2-3 years to institute a system in 2025 college basketball. Not if you’re good.

And this is why we'll be right back here in 3-4 years doing it all over again.
