Fire Coach Woodson Thread

The entire fanbase will never be fully reunited. Because some fans think other fans are racist, and that comes from both directions. (Unfortunately-the burners have made it clear they think that’s why fans are hard of Woodson). There’s also a bit of a political divide no one wants to acknowledge that plays a big factor as well. Even the Ex-players are not united in what they see and want.

BUT I DO KNOW THIS. Winning and having fun unites the vast majority. This is what we need. It’s always what we’ve needed.

I didn’t want to do the Woodson experience because I had a pretty good idea where it was headed. But I think it was a necessary step for a segment of past players and alums. Will that camp remain Indiana fans going forward? I hope so.

Hell, the fans who wanted Woodson for a coach are a dying breed....literally.

Otz and Stevens are like chocolate and vanilla ice cream. We’re much more likely to end up with meat and potatoes (let’s hope) or brussel sprouts and quinoa (let’s hope not).

They are just different flavors of the same home run wish or as you call it “ghost story” lol

Otz is much more realistic candidate. He actually wants to coach college basketball and is currently doing so.

MJ just read that we went from ...

Jerrod Calhoun is worthy of consideration to ...

Hey -- Richie Pitino just beat Calhoun by 19 at Utah State to ...

Richie Pitino would kill it here.

Calhoun, McCollum, etc would all get swallowed, chewed up, and spittin out here. Pitino wouldn’t. Confident saying that.

He wants Will Wade LOL!

Damn straight. Anybody who actually wants to win at a high level would too. UNC won’t care about transgressions almost a decade ago and they’ll go back to winning at a high level again.

Some of them... and a few more not on this board...

But you go on hating... when we get the bandwagon rolling again, don't bother trying to hop back on...

There is an allure to giving fans what they want for those who are of that stature. Brad knows damn well that if he took the job he'd be looked at like he walks on water. Couple that with the fact he's expressed (supposedly) that he'd one day coach IU, I think the draw for him is greater than people think. And if his wife is a good one (supportive), she'll tell his a$$, "Go get those banners babe!" Sometimes you gotta go fulfill dreams. Even if you already have it made.

Otz- $15-20 million buyout + 6 yr $40mil roughly ~$55-60mil all-in

Stevens—already turned down 7 yr/$70 mil

I’m not a math guy but….

Looks like roughly $10mil per year for both, but since neither of us are math guys maybe we can get someone to run the numbers on that.  Steven’s doesn’t have the obstacle of having to come up with $20-25mil in year one.  We’ll ignore the whole time value of money thing too.

Somehow you picked one of the few guys more unrealistic than Stevens.

I keep hearing he just signed a huge extension with a huge buyout when I asked someone about him. Sounds like his agent is interested in listening. So not really realistic.

Stevens is the president of basketball operations for the most famed basketball franchise in the world looking to repeat.

Otzelberger is currently coaching college basketball.

There’s a better chance Woodson is retained than Stevens coaching IU next year.

Stevens is making 1.5 million. What is TJ making?

Because family, coming home, dream job, possibility of coaching his son and wanting to coach college ball again, that **** has nothing to do with it either huh?
