My God, I hope Kathy isn't really someone in charge of our "processes".

When were you a student - athlete at IU? Genuinely interested in this.

Cashy is providing some great entertainment for me on a day where the work VPN is down.
The process is perfect, but also mostly it's been bad hires
Every argument Cashy doesn't like is only emotional

When did you graduate from IU?

How did we end up consistently with such lousy leadership?
Answer: flawed process.
You gotta let the process play out. First pay Woodson 15 million to leave. Second let quinn and the cook's sit in a room and find a new coach. Should be an iu guy.

What did Dakich post? He said his son told him to delete it

No clue, it was already deleted when I saw Goode’s tweet. Dakich still has several tweets about Goode still up, so I’d assume something harsher than his other tweets.

My thinking is monetary and the brand. Two things. First is that you will lose good money if this goes south quickly. Apathy, lack of butts in seats, concession sales.

Secondly, the brand. As someone else stated, you can’t have boos raining down during the Michigan game, or chants of “we want Dusty” as Woody just sits there. Being embarrassed on national tv, which IU has a few more to go through, with a former player on the sidelines.

Cut bait now, and you at least give the discourse to be “what are the options next” versus “look at this pathetic display”.

point being the narrative changes and that has both monetary value and brand value.

Also, Woodson has not fared well in B1G play as a coach. He's been an objective failure. An interim solution may provide some salvageable momentum for the team, program, athletic department, university, and fanbase. I see no good reasons to keep him at this point.

I don’t care if they replace him now or not. This season’s fate was sealed when the “process” dictated that he be given a fourth season. But there’s really absolutely no reason not to make a “Coach Woodson is retiring at the end of the year” announcement now. We’d all know that it’s BS and that it’s really a firing, but it’d let Woodson leave with his ego intact and avoid the fanbase hating him.

I don't care about his ego and the decision makers shouldn't either. Their concern should be the program and by that standard he needs to go.

In all honestly was there really anyone on this board who thought Woodson could work out when quinn hired him? I certainly did not and neither did the national media. They laughed at him.

I thought having the likes of Matta gave hom a better chance, aside from that I hated the hire because it was laughably bad.

And the results did nothing to benefit the long term health of the program. That’s the very definition of wasted effort. Why would that make sense?

Keep your head in the sand.  Last nights game was on Peacock.  Not a big audience. Nobody saw the "fire Mike Woodson" chants and the empty seats.

The next two home games, Maryland and Michigan are on CBS -- big audience.  How is it going to look on national TV?  Bad, just bad.  That will do wonders for the "long term health" of the program.

Don't act like we don't know what we are talking about.  Most of us have been around the block a few times.  Whether it was with sports teams, businesses, and just plain old life.  Many of us have hired and fired people.  We know "the process."  There is an old saying -- Hire slow and Fire fast.  IU should take note.  It's beyond time.

You’re making my point for me - this is all EMOTION. I get that, since I hate the losing, too. It’s just not, in my opinion, a great way to make decisions, though I realize many disagree.

Losing isn’t a reason to fire a coach? That’s usually the #1 reason coaches get fired.

Wining/losing isn’t emotional, they are facts and the facts suggest Woodson isn’t good at his job. Anywhere else in the world other than Indiana which has an impeccable process, people get fired when they aren’t good at their jobs.

Since you are confused @KathywithaC I will be more blunt. After the deafening boos and fire Mike Woodson chants yesterday, how many more occasions are you willing to let the man bear the brunt of 17,000+ angry fans in a stadium? How long do you think before that anger boils over and escalates in an unpredictable (and likely very unsafe) way? Human psychology is different in a large group like that and can become volatile quickly. Institutions have shown themselves to be woefully tone deaf and inept over the years when it comes to managing security and proactively dealing with safety threats. You want to fix this before it becomes fun for people to push the limits of bad behavior. God forbid anyone is physically harmed or other horror stories.

So somebody is going to physically harm Woodson and/or somebody from the team and yet this fan base wonders year after year why we can't ever hire anybody worth a salt?

Yeah tone deaf.

And I'm out on Woodson by the way, so you don't need to ask 1000x over.

No, I am NOT emotional. YOU are the EMOTIONAL one. Lol… fire him, retire him, extend him… who the hell cares anymore. If IU’s process is incapable of saving the basketball program from being a sinking ship for two months, it deserves to go down.

Okay, you convinced me! Thank goodness for reasoned, level-headed fans like you!
