The process is perfect, but also mostly it's been bad hires

Answer: flawed process.

You gotta let the process play out. First pay Woodson 15 million to leave. Second let quinn and the cook's sit in a room and find a new coach. Should be an iu guy.

Secondly, the brand. As someone else stated, you can’t have boos raining down during the Michigan game, or chants of “we want Dusty” as Woody just sits there. Being embarrassed on national tv, which IU has a few more to go through, with a former player on the sidelines. 
 

Cut bait now, and you at least give the discourse to be “what are the options next” versus “look at this pathetic display”. 
 

point being the narrative changes and that has both monetary value and brand value. 

Also, Woodson has not fared well in B1G play as a coach. He's been an objective failure. An interim solution may provide some salvageable momentum for the team, program, athletic department, university, and fanbase. I see no good reasons to keep him at this point.

No, I am NOT emotional. YOU are the EMOTIONAL one. Lol… fire him, retire him, extend him… who the hell cares anymore. If IU’s process is incapable of saving the basketball program from being a sinking ship for two months, it deserves to go down.

No, a "dramatic turnaround" wouldn't change the fact that Woodson should not keep his job for another season.

A "dramatic turnaround" wouldnt change the lack of high school long-term high school recruits (or Indiana recruits). He simply can't recruit kids that require building relationships over time. He lost two 5-star indiana recruits this year. 

A "dramatic turnaround" wouldn't change the fact that Woodson is 0-31 on recruiting Top-100 HS guards since he signed JHS. The lack of shooting on his teams has been a consistent, huge problem, and he hasn't been able to resolve it.

A "dramatic turnaround" wouldn't change the fact that in year 4, more than half of Woodson's B1G losses have been in double-figures, and nearly half have been by 15 points or more. How is it possible that his teams get consistently blown out so often?

The fact that you believe that he should still be able to keep his job tells me that you're the one who is being emotional.

If one just looks at statistics, Woodson never should have been brought back for his fourth season. The program has not been progressing. He missed the tournament last year. He has been getting blown out of games. He barely recruits any HS players anymore because he can't. The progression of the program is poor.

I don't care about his ego and the decision makers shouldn't either. Their concern should be the program and by that standard he needs to go.

In all honestly was there really anyone on this board who thought Woodson could work out when quinn hired him? I certainly did not and neither did the national media. They laughed at him.

Keep your head in the sand.  Last nights game was on Peacock.  Not a big audience. Nobody saw the "fire Mike Woodson" chants and the empty seats.  

The next two home games, Maryland and Michigan are on CBS -- big audience.  How is it going to look on national TV?  Bad, just bad.  That will do wonders for the "long term health" of the program.  

Don't act like we don't know what we are talking about.  Most of us have been around the block a few times.  Whether it was with sports teams, businesses, and just plain old life.  Many of us have hired and fired people.  We know "the process."  There is an old saying -- Hire slow and Fire fast.  IU should take note.  It's beyond time.

Losing isn’t a reason to fire a coach? That’s usually the #1 reason coaches get fired.

Wining/losing isn’t emotional, they are facts and the facts suggest Woodson isn’t good at his job. Anywhere else in the world other than Indiana which has an impeccable process, people get fired when they aren’t good at their jobs.
