Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Here is the deal. I love the effort. I love the intensity and the reason purdue didn't shoot the 3 great was pretty darn good defense. Why hasn't this been the norm? Why only this game? Let's face it when your season is riding on winning on the road at purdue you have problems. The effort makes me even more sick of woodson. Purdue gave the usual effort iu matched it tonight

BINGO. That is what frustrates me the most.  They clearly can play well when their back is against the wall.  Had they done this all season, this loss wouldn't mean anything.  Yet, here we are.

Not sure, what about losing by 5?

Lol, I stopped paying attention before that last foul. Losing by only 5 when 12.5 point dogs is a moral victory!

It's definitely a win for team tank.

I was legitimately really p!ssed off and still am kinda annoyed, but this did make me stop for a second and crack a half smile.

We'll have to settle for silver linings for now...

Honestly the only thing that matters to me now is removing Woodson as head coach. If I had even a sliver of confidence in the IU administration I would be ok with wins here and there, such as tonight, but I have no such confidence. So, I view every game as a must lose so that way the program wins after the season ends.

Seems like the players coached themselves most of the game. In the huddle, together during dead ball pauses. Leal did an excellent job keeping everyone together. They played hard and deserved the win. The lack of coaching at crucial times absolutely caused the loss this time and that is a clear fact. I simply can not wait for the Woodson era to close quickly.

Rice is soft.

This one's not on Woody.

Not entirely, but you can take issue with several things.

My biggest gripe by far is that you had virtually the same scenario vs. Maryland a week ago. You decided to call a timeout then, didn't work. So you decide next time in the same scenario, you're not going to call a timeout. OK... then Rice, and everyone else on the court, needs to know what the play is going to be when you're under 10 seconds and get the ball back (if he is not able to beat everyone else down the court and get an easy lay up first). Rice needs to be coached well enough to know that a referee on the road in a close game is not going to bail you out on a 50/50 at best call where you look like the one who initiated contact.

And then the whole throw in with 3 seconds was just a mail in. At least rip off one of Jay Wright or Coach K's old plays, lol.

Yes it is, because they faltered down the stretch, which comes down to coaching.  Playing soft still comes down to coaching!

They imploded down the stretch.  We were in control, but Galloway makes a very bad alley oop pass to Ballo, 1 of 105 this year.  Then the very next play Leal gets his pocket picked by Smith. Two turnovers under 4 minutes killed us

I get that totally. And I am truthfully conflicted in most games, happy with either outcome. But I really dislike Purdue.

Oh well. We'll get em next time/next year hopefully.
