Fire Coach Woodson Thread

I just want this guy gone so bad. His demeanor/attitude just drives me nuts. Only thing I think he’s improved on past couple months or so is that he hasn’t referred to himself in the third person nearly as much, so good for him on that one. I’m sure it’s a downright fact that he’s done after this season, but I wish like heck it’d be sooner than that. Beating his chest and players saying I told you so because they barely beat not very good teams is ridiculous. After 4 years of the same crap and how he’s treated fans/media, does he really deserve to limp through the rest of the season just so he can tell everyone he did his job?

I don’t like it when we lose, but to be honest, this morning I was kinda mad that we won last night. He’s gonna get to insist he’s doing his job and that the results were the best that could have happened. NO, THEY WERE NOT. I’m sorry, but here’s to hoping I’d rather see us lose to Northwestern by 20 than to beat them by 3 and have Woody throw his hands in the air like we just knocked off a top 5 team.
Trying to convince myself to just relax and let him ride out the season if he’ll just be gone anyways…I’m just over it, ha.

I think we all on this thread want him gone!  I wanted him gone the day before yesterday but here we are.  He has made a laughing stock of our basketball program and the university, but I also blame the university too and yet here we are!  The university will drag this out because they think it is bad optic but they will allow this to drag until things get much worse!  Honestly, they pretty much stated what they are all about when they didn’t do anything last year, but he did his job and the called out fans for not being true fans which was probably why the fans did what they did at the Illinois game and yet here we are!

FIRE MIKE WOODSON IMMEDIATELY!!!

I know there is context, just saying that the list isn't accurate.  I only looked at one season that wasn't mentioned and a game under Woodson that wasn't.  I'm quite sure there are others that aren't on the list.

Edit:  In 2009-10, Crean's second year, IU had 32 and 28 point losses.  So that would move all of Woodson's worst margins out except the 29 point loss to St. Mary's and I'm sure the chart is missing some other games since I've easily found quite a few.  It doesn't make Woodson any better than he is, just saying that the 25 point back to back losses are horrible regardless of them not being in the top ten.

Why do you want to keep Woodson!?

The problem is at this point the more we win the more we to listen to him say he is doing his job, etc. He is so arrogant and so full of himself it's just beyond nauseous at this point. Other than winning a national title there is nothing he could do to win me back. I am just done with him

Perhaps. As another poster mentioned, if a mid season move were to be made you do it right after the second back to back 25 point blowouts where your own fans chanted to fire you and filed out early. “If” a plan was already in place they could have moved swiftly right after that game and it would be done with.

now instead we have an even bigger mess as you don’t do it after a conference road win and we’re in jeopardy of bringing him back into the hall and getting bood again on national television.
Yep should have moved after illinois. The timing was right. Now they are giving him a chance to beat a few bad teams and save himself at least for a few more weeks.

This list isn't accurate.

I was at IU in 1990 and we didn't lose 110-79 that season to Purdue. And the 103-74 loss to MSU was in 2008 -- that falls under Dakich, who had taken over for Sampson. We also did not lose 96-73 to Iowa in 1998.

If they get buried at NW, it’ll get interesting.  Very tough stretch after that.

Certainly was the time to move.  But my money says Quinn and Co. blocked it. Or the suggestion was made to Mediocre Mike to announce an end of season retirement and he refused, or took it under advisement.

NW is struggling.  What I earlier assumed would be an on the road loss, looks like a possible win.  Allows a couple of home losses and still maintain a .500 big10 record.

Yep I think quinn still has way more pull than people think. We thought he was gone last year. Instead we were told to chill and run it back.

Ok guys…

Last nights game changed EVERYTHING.

That’s my unpopular opinion.  He’s still gone at the END of the season.  If we had got blown out last night, and blown out at Northwestern then that would have been it.  I mean he is not walking into SSAH after that.  I mean besides, who doesn’t like to get blown anyways right?

That win saved him for the time being.  Look at how HARD the team played.  The coaches were coaching hard too.  Woodson’s reaction after the game said it all.  He knew it.  They all knew it.

I think that there is a real chance this team goes 11-9 in conference and wins a game in the conf tourney.  That gets them in March Madness and Woodson can say he got us back or whatever he wants to say and goes out on good terms.

Now the only way that happens is if Mgbako sits.  I have said since the first time I saw him play he can’t play at this level.  I argued Banks should have started over him but this staff couldn’t unlock Banks.  He doesn’t have the athleticism or motor to play at this level.  Leal should have been playing a lot more minutes his whole career here.  He won Woodson two games last year after all.  Btw when are teams going to learn you can’t iso Leal late in games?  Goode is not going to score like that every game but he will score enough.  MR will be back.  Mgbako should not be starting, and should be around 10 minutes per game.  He shouldn’t be in late game situations.  Idk if Woodson sees it but I hope he has seen enough to cut down his minutes.

We are NOT what our record says we are.  We are not good, but there is a path to get 10 or 11 wins and a possible March Madness invitation.  Last night’s game did change some things.  Having said all that, I really hope that I’m wrong.

One unlucky bounce for ohio state did change things. Quinn will sure he get every chance to turn it around and give his I saved indiana speech at ths end if the year. That win saved Woodson for sure. One point saved him til years end at least.

Before the next game. 3 games from now. End of the season. As long as he's gone at the end of the season, I don't really care when it happens.

We will get blown out multiple times between now and the end of the season. This team has been shown to be able to get motivated and play well enough to win for a game or two. Then they revert back to not caring because they can't maintain that.

B and W may be out to night having a glass of wine on how to scheme a plan if you want to beat Ohio State before overtime and NW in the same week then give us more NIL money (maybe a raise to).

Hey babe!  You come here often?  Can I buy you a drink?   Welcome back.  Seems forever since you've posted.

A drink huh.  Have things changed as far as your situation?  I have to know!  I haven’t posted in forever.  (I have my reasons).

I hear you.  Collins is just a 10x better coach.

he would be on my personal short list, but still don’t think it goes past Stevens & May.
