Woodson's first two seasons weren't good enough to shield him from being fired after this season.

Him being a former player and buddy of Buckners is though. He could probably get to year 5 if he were determined.

No reason to assume this hasn’t happened

Yeah, I'd argue that the continued crappy on-the-floor product would indicate that (1) it didn't happen, (2) it didn't register with Woodson, or (3) it doesn't really matter to anyone in charge.

100% being buckners buddy gets him at least two more years. That was the big problem with the hire in the first place

Sure perhaps but that doesn’t invalidate my point

Penn State was quicker all game.  Woodson played Ware, Reneau, and Mgbako at the same time for too many minutes.  Sure, they are our best players, but that lineup was too slow against Penn State.  We should have tried playing small even without Johnson.  They were dictating the pace and we needed to adjust.  Why not try a zone just to give PSU a different look on a couple of possessions?  Why no adjustments?  Very frustrating loss!

I wasn't able to watch the game. No point in putting myself through that now. Same song and dance I assume?

Forget the NIL portal. Go after some NHL portal hockey players with toughness and a smokin’ slap shot!

Woody said they came out flat in the second half. I’d use a different F word with an e d on the end of it.

February 3, 2024 the day IU basketball died…..

SAD.

OK I’ll bite - who would have you played smaller then?

Gunn played 14 minutes, Leal 11. Neither hit a 3-pt shot. Neither are defensive stoppers. So how would playing them be better than the guys that were out there that are actually more talented?

Worse than usual. Second half we went all in suck fest. We also let them hit a spectacular amount of threes even by our standards. Even let them go to work in the paint to top it off

I forgot Penn state had a first year , but I am told Woodson needs four years to get things rolling.

Woodson hadn't been a head coach in almost 10 years, he needs time to get back into the groove of things. - IU, probably

They wouldn't realize that he wasn't a HC because no one wanted him.

And yet they gave him a massive buyout when nobody else wanted him.

That’s the start of the problem and him being stuck in his ways is another problem.  He was dead set on eating at the table and lost or didn’t have focus on roster construction. You have to build a team with a purpose that fits your style of play, I don’t think Woodson knows what that is and he has tried to mask it by collecting the most talented player that will commit.  I think TJD, Race and Kopp masked a lot of Woodson’s coaching flaws.

Yep and not sure why anything will be any different next year. I highly doubt he will change anything.

Who has been saying he needs 4 years to get things rolling? Maybe you have examples but I don’t recall anyone posting that.
