At around 1:50 mark, they start a segment about Wilcher and Mgbako going to rival schools. They talk about being pretty tight friends off the court... just a nugget considering some speculated they don't get along... (Wilcher also says later in the video he is proud of Mgbako and mentions he's grown up playing with/around them)

Maybe I'm dead wrong but I don't see SJU working out here. If we get a foot in the door I think we have as good a chance as anyone.

You have to play next season before the one after it. We want to sign some good players for '24, of course, but '24 recruits aren't winning us any games next season.

Nobody seems to know what is going on with Antonio Reeves but maybe the staff is getting tired of the drama and so are reaching out to Chris Johnson. Did he play much for Montverde? I don't remember him when watching their games.

Just wild speculation, nothing more.....I think Kansas wasn't happy with the way Texas handled Ron Holland's decommitment.  The feeling initially was that Holland was going to decommit from Texas and go to Kansas.  It drug on, Kansas moved on, and Holland ended up going to G-League Ignite.  Since Texas is interested in Johnson, might be their way of sticking it to Texas.  Already bad blood to begin with as Arterio Morris transferred from Texas to Kansas.

If you can get Johnson now as opposed to waiting two months to see if you could get Reeves, you take Johnson now.

• It is now confirmed that Antonio Reeves is taking classes at Illinois State.
• He needs to graduate by end of summer to be eligible for a second (this time graduate) transfer.
• If he was planning on staying at Kensucky, he would not need to spend his summer at Illinois State taking classes - he could simply finish his undergrad degree in the fall at UK and suit up for a Covid year with them.

• Therefore, I strongly suspect that Antonio Reeves will transfer.
• Likeliest choices?

It would seem as though he would finish when the summer semester finishes at Illinois State. A quick internet search shows that date to be Saturday, August 12th.

Correct, and I think it states something like grades being due on Aug 15 and posted on the 17th

Local rumor is that when he transferred from ISU to UK, not all credits transferred perfectly toward the degree path. As a former transfer, I (and many others) know how rough this can be, losing a semester or possibly more of classes. It may be a stretch to get done by end of summer but certainly possible. He could also petition NCAA for a waiver.

That plus the fact that most schools require people to take a certain number of credits at their institution  before they can graduate from there. This number is usually around 60 credit hours (4 semester of full time). He has only been at UK for 1 year.

Basically just says what we already knew that IU reached out to Johnson but also talks about his play style.

Maybe that final roster spot is filled by someone from West Virginia. They did have a Top 5 transfer class.

Kriisa would be a fit, although we would have two ball dominant guards.  That said, wasn’t much traction for him coming to IU before.  He had interest in Oregon, Syracuse, and Xavier.
