Class of '66 Old Fart

IUBB @ Northwestern - Wednesday, 2/15/23 @ 9:00 ET on BTN

Recommended Posts

Throwing the ball all over the court didn't help matters tonight.

The worst might have been JHS chucking it off the top of the backboard down 2 with about a minute and a half left.

Too much adrenaline perhaps? Can't figure how the hell that happened.

It wasn't sarcasm and the contact by Woody then changed the call (by that definition you provided) to cost IU a team foul. So the index finger of Mike Woodson was the deciding factor tonight. Again not sarcasm when it's the truth.

I dunno…I think I agree with the other poster who said whomever on the bench got the first technical is to blame. It’s pretty unacceptable for anyone but the HC to get a T on the sideline.

Yep only here when we lose.  I don’t post every game I get to watch or anything. Nope
You post way more frequently when things are going bad. I will say that. You clearly know you are a leader of the negativity train. I'm not even mad at ya because I'm negative at times too but you are more active when there's something to ***** about.

Rosemond has two of those now, correct? The other was from Xavier on the bench?

Maybe. I am hesitant to get too into the excitement of the good after any good times because I am just waiting for the shoe to drop like it did tonight so that’s probably fair.

I'm not going to chastise people for when they decide to post, but the effort police are getting to be about as annoying as the court-storming police.

I don't disagree. I'm just saying that Woody's contact with Scrotum is why they ended up with 3 extra FT's. And I'm not even convinced he was trying to make contact. I'd do the same thing in that situation

Trey can control getting in front of Boie.  And he did.

So why care about what you CAN control when in the end it doesn't matter?

We can control turning the ball over (13 in this one), leaving shooters WIDE OPEN, giving e and e, c and c, i and i, and so on for the other 60-70 possessions.

Keep focusing on the extremely small %, but about that, Trey did control getting in front of him (that's great!), much better than Kopp getting stuck in first gear, but didn't stop him. If we would have controlled what we could control for the majority of the game we win this going away, ditto for the game against NW in Assembly Hall.

A couple out of 60+ ain't bad though

I honestly don’t remember. Generally it seems if it happens more than once a season it is an anomaly. Having it happen multiple times might warrant a change.

It’s long past time for reform.  If IU were serious about basketball they would be making a USC type move somewhere else.  The fact is IU is ok with the corruption as long as they get their cut of the money.

Almost makes you wonder if the athletic department got that mantra from the larger university...........

Yea…even the announcers were skeptical it warranted a second T. Letter of the law, I suppose, but you generally don’t see it.
