Stuhoo Posted December 24, 2022 Author Posted December 24, 2022 I already knew Tamar could shoot. In the second half Trey, JHS, Miller, and yes…Tamar too played exceptional perimeter defense. If Tamar can defend and rebound like that he’s a major piece toward success. lillurk 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 At times, I thought they looked quicker and more athletic than us. Probably doesn't bode well for us the rest of the way, or maybe they could be a sleeper team later on, who knows. Quote
Stuhoo Posted December 24, 2022 Author Posted December 24, 2022 Also… Props to Woody for adjustments that worked defensively. str8baller, lillurk, Class of '66 Old Fart and 3 others 6 Quote

Hmm, seems i was just talking about his improvements…. Bates is well on the way to being the impact player we thought. Still early in soph season, and he’s clearly better than last season. Has to keep developing for sure, but he’s headed in the right direction! southsidehoosier 1 Quote
yogisballin Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Wow! We’re just not that good. Idc what the next guy here says. We have got to get rid of 2 bigs clogging the paint in the lineup. It’s so obvious! malik, bless his heart. His feet are just too heavy right now to play big minutes. we’ve got a LONG way to go girls and boys. Happy holidays everyone! WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
realTomCrean Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Will be interesting to see how our lineups vary through the B1G season. 10-3 is a good start the year. This year I’m asking Santa for a speedy recovery for X. Let’s hold on at home and keep building - if X can comeback this year we may be set for some magic in March. There will be ups and downs but at Coach Woodson’s 1.5 year mark the talent level on the bench is extremely improved and we have an identity. A lot will hinge on the transfer portal following this year - IU will have to land a few pieces. Future is bright for the Hoosiers J34 and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote
yogisballin Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 I really do not see us finishing in the top half of the B1G. Loaded Chicken Sandwich 1 Quote
IU Scott Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 We are 10-3 at the break where I predicted 11-2 do we are not far off where a lot of us thought we would be. We have struggled lately and we need to take this break off to get rejuvenated. It seems we are a lite tire physically and mentally so the guys need to go home and get away from basketball for a few days. They need to be ready to come back and work hard in all the practice time they have. Quote

TTT Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 Return to greatness…who were the top 10 most overrated teams in men’s college basketball to start the season??? Quote

So much of the defensive problems were positioning, over-helping, moment-to-moment attentiveness. He should start without X (won’t be too mad either way), which moves Galloway to his best role as bench buzzsaw. If you want a big-picture reason for optimism: IU has shown extended stretches of success in a variety of ways. Due to injury, energy/effort (which can be improved upon!), and general early season acclimation, it often hasn’t all happened at once. Get healthy, and let’s see what they can do. Quote

yogisballin Posted December 24, 2022 Posted December 24, 2022 I guess I’m concerned most about a level of intensity especially at the start of games. How many times have we came out flat as ****? Seriously HoosierFan1994 and Hoosier987 2 Quote

But without XJ and with TJD dealing with back issues, possibly JHS also, we are not that team. Take the best two players off of any team and they won't be the same either. Quote

I thought IU did a decent job containing Youngblood and Burden and Kennesaw had a couple of guys step up. Defensively Kennesaw played hard and well in first half. IU had enough talent in the second half and Kennesaw's margin of error was small. Quote
